Overview
Henry Booth House is seeking a skilled and detail-oriented Accountant to join our team. The accountant has a wide range of responsibilities related to accounting and finance. The accountant should have a working knowledge of GAAP, and nonprofit fund accounting. The accountant will function as part of a 5-member team focused on ensuring the daily fiscal operations are executed correctly, comprehensively, and timely. The accountant will be responsible for various duties and responsibilities listed below.
Duties and Responsibilities
- Prepares biweekly payroll in accordance with time and attendance records.
- Prepares and computes data for submission to the payroll management source Paycor.
- Maintains copies of employee new hire authorization forms, termination, and status change forms.
- Prepares journal entries, monitors, and reconciles general ledger.
- Prepares vouchers for federal, city, and state reimbursement.
- Prepares daily cash reporting.
- Responsible for tracking, monitoring, and reporting of In-Kind/ Non-Federal Share.
- Assists in the preparation of the month-end closing.
- Assists in year-end audit preparation.
- Assists with cost allocation assignments and budget to actual analysis.
- Prepares and submits reports as required by the agency.
- Reconciles monthly bank statements.
- Processes and monitors accounts receivable transactions including reconciling accounts receivable journal, resolving uncollected amounts, and /or monitoring aging reports.
- Process purchase orders, allocate expenses, and maintain a fiscal purchase order log.

Qualifications
- Bachelor degree in Accounting, Finance, or equivalent is required.
- At least three (3) years of accounting experience is required--5 years preferred.
- Nonprofit fund accounting experience a plus
- Proficiency in Microsoft Excel / Word, Fund EZ, and Paycor.
- Ability to follow policies and procedures of Henry Booth House
- Performs or demonstrates the ability to perform a variety of technical fiscal support and account record-keeping work.
