What to Expect
Under the supervision of the Comprehensive Plan & Policy Review Division Director , this position performs a variety of advanced administrative functions for the Hillsborough County City-County Planning Commission’s CPPR division. These functions support the professional planning staff with land use projects and to ensure c ompliance with applicable land development codes and regulations. This position will work closely with the Plan Amendment Coordinators for the county and cities.
What Qualifications are Needed
A Bachelor's degree and two or more years of administrative/secretarial experience
Or
An equivalent combination of education, training and experience that would reasonably be expected to provide the job-specific competencies noted below.
What Qualifications are Nice to Have
Experience with scheduling in Microsoft Outlook*
Experience with legal documents
Experience with spreadsheets and databases
Experience with uploading and updating webpages

What You Will Be Doing
- Provides administrative support to the Comprehensive Plan Policy Review division.
- Schedules and coordinates noticing, billing, and advertising for Planning Commission public hearings.
- Participates in the agenda process, printing agenda packets, and correspondence.
- Assists in the preparation of materials for and attends public meetings, workshops, and hearings.
- Schedules staff for meetings.
Performs other related duties as required.

What You Need to Be Successful
- Knowledge of Microsoft Office Software (Word, Outlook, PowerPoint & Excel), SharePoint or equivalent and other common office software packages (Adobe)
- Knowledge of the rules of English grammar, spelling, and punctuation
- Working knowledge of general office equipment including personal computers, printers, copiers, fax machines, etc.
- Skill in communicating effectively, both verbally and in writing
- Skill in typing and performing data entry
- Skill in scheduling and maintaining office calendars and appointments
- Ability to interact with internal and external customers in a courteous and professional manner
- Ability to meet deadlines
- Ability to follow processes and procedures
- Ability to juggle many priorities and competing demands easily and effectively
- Ability to proofread documents and identify errors
- Ability to analyze transactions and reports and make appropriate correcting entries
