A premier manufacturer of specialty meat products is seeking an experienced professional to lead our operations as a Sanitation Manager. We are a well-established business with over fifty years of success. Qualifications:
- 3 to 5 years of management/supervisory experience in a manufacturing environment
- Able to coach, mentor, and direct employees as need
- An individual with outstanding problem-solving skills
- Must have strong organizational skills, capable of directing priorities and goal for the entire second shift operation
- Effective communication skills with direct reports and with other management on other shifts
- A continuous improvement mindset
- Strong ownership in the success of the team
Responsibilities:
- Plan and schedule departmental work using employees, equipment, and materials to ensure a clean and sanitary plant.
- Develop and improve new and existing SOPs.
- Train employees and develop strategies to maximize utilization and cross-coverage.
- Support plant safety, food safety, and GMPs, with food safety being paramount.
- Work with supervisors to ensure pre-operational plant conditions meet USDA and company standards.
- Conduct quarterly chemical training with the sanitation team.
- Monitor and evaluate environmental swabs; identify and solve problems for deviations and out-of-spec results.
- Deliver on or under the sanitation supply and chemical budget.
- Develop employees and supervisors in line with company objectives to promote from within.
- Work on continuous improvement projects within the department.
- Approve and verify hours for the department.
- Conduct weekly meetings with supervisors to discuss department metrics, projects, and goals.
- Perform other projects, tasks, and duties as assigned by plant management.
