We are seeking an experienced Human Resources Generalist with that special ability to perform the technical pieces of the job while also focusing on fostering a high level of employee engagement. This role is not just about completing tasks it is also about the experience our employees and applicants have during the interactions.
In this role, you will use your creativity, energy and enthusiasm to ensure an outstanding employee experience through the creation, implementation and management of innovative employee programs and work culture activities. You will also assist with the coordination and administration of employee health, welfare, and retirement plans; leaves of absence; the recruitment and selection process; reward and recognition programs; wellness and engagement activities; performance management; and policies and procedures in support of achieving organizational and HR goals. Serve as the primary back-up to payroll.
Ensure confidentiality, discretion, and compliance with federal and state employment laws and regulations as well as Federal and State wage and hour laws. Interface with staff, management, and visitors to the credit union, reinforcing a culture that is aligned with SESLOC Values and attracts and retains top talent.
Education and Experience:
Bachelor's Degree in Human Resources, Organizational Development or related degree and a minimum of five (5) years professional human resources experience sufficient to demonstrate competency in benefits administration, recruitment and selection, policy development, and HR programs with a minimum of two to three of those years involved in processing payroll in California. Experience with ADP Workforce Now preferred. This position will travel to other branches as needed and will require a valid California driver license, registration, and insurance. Ability to create inspiring doodles on our giant HR chalkboard and flip burgers at BBQs is a plus!
This position will be based out of the San Luis Obispo Headquarters building.
