- Staff Training and Support
Provides computer/iPad-based application education and staff development functions for clinical and administrative such as; planning and implementing clinical or administrative functionality orientation, end-user floor support, and user in-service education. Maintains active communication amongst team members, care staff, interdepartmental staff, and organization. This role is expected to travel and will rotate between working in the clinic (back office), working in administration (front desk,) and providing training to new hires. Will report to the EMR Specialist.
- Schedule and coordinate new hire training times and dates with Clinical/Admin Supervisors and HR.
- Provides initial EMR onboarding for all new hire clinical and/or admin staff.
- Provides structured clinical instruction that will serve as the basis for all new hire clinical assistants. Topics covered but not limited to obtaining vital signs, suture removals, sterile tray set-up, donning sterile gloves, preparation of surgical sites, proper sterile processing, proper dressing application.,
- Provide structured administrative instruction that will serve as the basis for all new admin staff. Topics covered but not limited to insurance verification, collecting payments, chart prep etc.
- Provide immediate feedback to clinical/administrative supervisors following completion of training regarding status of their new hire’s progress.
- Provide all supporting MIPS documentation for clinical staff.
- Manage all supplies utilized in clinic/admin training.
- Facilitate PPSD’s quality measures to be documented within the EMR system.
- Assist with the inventory management of iPads and related items (assigning new iPads to new employees, identify need for additional iPads, etc).
- Assist with building the training packet, sorting, filing, etc.
- Demonstrates commitment to providing outstanding customer service.
- Attend Mod Med or other EMA training related meetings as they pertain to the clinic to incorporate any changes into the training process.
Qualifications
Education - Medical Assisting, Medical Office Assistant, CNA, and/or Surgical Technologist certification preferred. Equivalent experience may be substituted.
Experience - Two years’ experience in a healthcare setting with demonstrated understanding of clinical practice. Demonstrated education, staff development and competency assessment experience. Experience with EMA by Modernizing Medicine preferred
Job Requirements: Will require travel to multiple office locations when training is not in session. Excellent verbal and written communication skills a must.
Working Conditions: Works in a fast-paced, well-lit, comfort controlled medical office. High traffic area. Work may be stressful. Interaction with others may be constant and interruptive. Occasional irregular hours. Frequent exposure to communicable disease, toxic substances, medical preparations, and other conditions common to a clinic environment. Requires travel to all office locations.
Physical Demands: Requires full range of body motion including manual and finger dexterity, and eye-hand coordination. Involves substantial standing and walking. Vision should be correctable and hearing discernible to telephone/paging contacts.
