```Duties``` - Conduct comprehensive eye examinations to assess patients' visual acuity and detect any ocular abnormalities or diseases - Prescribe and fit corrective lenses or contact lenses based on patients' visual needs - Diagnose and manage various eye conditions, such as glaucoma, cataracts, and macular degeneration - Provide pre- and post-operative care for patients undergoing eye surgeries - Collaborate with other healthcare professionals, such as ophthalmologists and opticians, to ensure comprehensive patient care - Educate patients on proper eye care techniques and preventive measures ```Skills``` - Strong sales skills to effectively communicate the benefits of eyewear options to patients - Proficiency in aseptic technique to maintain a sterile environment during eye examinations and procedures - Knowledge of ophthalmology principles and practices to accurately diagnose and treat eye conditions - Experience in senior care to provide specialized eye care services for elderly patients - Excellent patient care skills to ensure a positive experience for all individuals seeking optometric services - Familiarity with medical systems and electronic health records for accurate documentation and record keeping - Knowledge of medical terminology and coding to properly document diagnoses, treatments, and procedures - Strong anatomy knowledge to understand the structure and function of the eye - Experience in pediatrics to provide specialized eye care for children Please note that this job description is not exhaustive, and additional duties may be assigned as needed.
