CTS Health Services is a community mental health services center that specializes in a holistic approach to health and wellness for children, parents, and adults of varying circumstances and mental challenges. We provide one-on-one behavioral interventions for our clients and their support circles to help our clients navigate through life within their community at their highest level.
The Training Specialist is responsible for training all employees of Chicago Therapeutic Services in all IL locations. With the assistance of the Human Resource Generalist in each location, the incumbent will be responsible for the design, delivery, and continuous improvement of training programs; conduct needs assessments, execute training, develop reinforcements and evaluate outcomes. Ultimately, the role of the training coordinator is to oversee all professional development as a part of Chicago Therapeutic Services.
Responsibilities of the Training Specialist:
- Develop and deliver training programs in a classroom setting
- Conduct needs assessments to identify training gaps and develop appropriate content
- Write and update training manuals, guides, and other instructional materials
- Present training sessions to employees, ensuring effective delivery of content
- Evaluate the effectiveness of training programs and make necessary improvements
- Track all employee trainings and ensure that all employees and their files are compliant and up to date with staff requirements pertaining to state regulations and CARF accreditation, with assistance of the Human Resources Generalists
· Researching, designing, developing, and updating training programs (outsourced or in-house) for new hire orientation, initial, continued education trainings and more as needed
· Selecting appropriate training methods or activities (virtual, simulated, mentoring, on the job training, professional development classes, etc.)
· Partner with internal stakeholders and liaise with experts regarding instructional design
Qualifications of the Training Specialist:
- College degree
- 2+ years’ experience working as a Trainer, Training Facilitator or relevant position.
- Demonstrated ability to successfully develop and deliver training programs utilizing skills in instructional design, program design & development, and training methodologies
- Experience with various training methods, including on-the-job coaching, mentorship programs and e-learning, in varying projects, like management training
- Familiarity with instructor, equipment, and educational material requirements for each project
- Creativity in designing engaging ways to train employees (e.g. client role-playing exercises or outdoor activities)
- High energy, enthusiastic, motivational training style
- Excellent creative and conceptual thinking abilities
- Strong communication skills, both verbal and written.
- Computer literate with in-depth knowledge of Microsoft Office and web-based systems; visual aids technology
- Strong organizational, planning, project management, problem resolution, communication, presentation, facilitation, and influencing skills required
- Strong people management and leadership skills
- Superior organizational skills, attention to detail/level of quality, communication (written and verbal), and guest service skills.
- Must be able to travel within any Chicago Therapeutic Services locations as necessary
- Experience with Mental Health/ Behavioral Health preferred
