POSITION: Client Systems Administrator
SALARY: PSE Salary Schedule A, Line 24-14, with an additional .85 cents with an AA degree, $1.00 with BA degree OR $1.50 with MA degree and above with receipt of an official ranscript.
JOB DESCRIPTION: The Client Systems Administrator works under the supervision of the Technology
Operations Leader and is the lead person for client systems and responsible for design, implementation and support of end-user computer systems. The Client Systems Administrator coordinates day-to-day work of client systems staff and serves as an escalation point for hardware, software, operating systems, installation, configuration, and administration of end user compute systems and devices. This person must exhibit strong task and time management skills, strong oral and written communication skills, technical expertise, and dedication to resolve problems effectively and efficiently without unplanned downtimes.
QUALIFICATIONS: Required
- Post high-school education\certification in relevant area of study (Business, Computer Science, or other technical degree or certification) or equivalent work experience.
- Experience with deployment systems such as MDT
- Proficient with Active Directory, DNS, DHCP, Group Policy, login scripts, etc.
- Experience troubleshooting technical issues
- Ability to organize, set priorities, and work effectively under pressure.
- Demonstrated ability to effectively communicate technical concepts to both non-technical and technical personnel
- Valid Washington State Driver’s License required
Preferred:
● Post high-school education\certification in relevant area of study (Business, Computer Science, or other technical degree or certification) or equivalent work experience.
● CompTIA A+, Network+ certification
● HP ATA certification - connected devices
● Hardware repair experience - print devices, laptops, Chromebooks, PC desktops
● Five years experience providing customer support of desktop systems and applications in a network environment
WORKING CONDITIONS:
Exposed to a visual display terminal for prolonged periods; required to sit for prolonged periods; occasionally required to deal with distraught or frustrated people; required to drive to various district sites. Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, distance vision, color vision, peripheral vision, depth perception and the ability to adjust focus. Frequently work with electrical components and is exposed to risk of electrical shock. Noise level in the work environment is usually moderate; at times, however, while using certain equipment, noise level may increase. Able to lift 50 pounds on a regular basis.
REPRESENTATIVE DUTIES:
● Design, implement and lead the support of end-user computer systems.
● Coordinate day-to-day work of client systems staff and serves as an escalation point for hardware, software, operating systems, installation, configuration, and administration of end user compute systems and devices.
● Create and maintain Windows-based computer images.
● Provide helpdesk support during peak times
● Provide technical consultation, training, and support to technical and non-technical staff
● Escalate technical problems to other technology staff or external vendors as needed.
● Temporary duties as assigned.
