POSITION SUMMARY
This position with Architectural Surfaces will perform both warehouse and driver duties. Depending on the branch schedule, Saturdays may be required.
Warehouse duties include all warehouse operation functions, including but not limited to material handling, receiving, shipping, cleaning, and customer service.
Driver’s duties include transporting products from our facility to our customer’s site in a safe and efficient manner. May assist in loading and unloading vehicles. May also manually move freight, stock, or other materials or perform other unskilled general labor.
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:
WAREHOUSE ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:
- Safely operate forklift and crane in outside yard and warehouse.
- Accurately process incoming orders.
- Stage material for both customer viewing and loading trucks.
- Inspect, count, and verify all materials/products received against paperwork documentation prior to unloading trucks/containers. Note any discrepancies on the paperwork.
- Sign off on all orders and obtain cross-check with co-workers/supervisor.
- Load and unload material onto trucks safely and accurately.
- Secure all slabs on trucks using safety straps, and chains.
- Safely move and secure bundles in the warehouse.
- Tag and identify the material as and when needed.
- Maintain a clean and safe work environment, including cutting excess wood from the warehouse and placing it in dumpsters.
- Responsible for quality control. Inspect material when loading trucks to ensure customer satisfaction and to also ensure container material is in satisfactory condition when unloading containers.
- Operate forklifts and hoists as needed following all standard safety operating policies and using all required PPE.
- Communicate with co-workers to ensure safety and to establish a consistent level of teamwork.
- Follow and adhere to all Company safety policies and standard operating procedures.

DRIVER ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS:
- Timely deliveries.
- Responsible for performing inspections before and at the time of deliveries.
- Assist in loading and unloading.
- Paperwork concerning delivery orders.
- Submit reports of damages.
- Maintain professional representation of Architectural Surfaces in all interactions with customers and through responsible driving.
- Maintain records required for compliance with state and federal regulations, including driver’s logs, records of fuel purchases, mileage records, and other records required by law and AG&M’s policy.
- Other duties as assigned.
POSITION QUALIFICATIONS KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, AND ABILITIES:
- Ability to use and/or learn proper forklift operation.
- Ability to read and understand order forms and serial numbers.
- Ability to follow written and verbal/non-verbal instructions.
- Hardworking, dependable individual with a team player attitude.
EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE:
- High School diploma or equivalent.
- Must have a clean driving record.
- Prefer commercial driving experience.
- Prefer flatbed experience.
WORK ENVIRONMENT/PHYSICAL DEMANDS
- Ability to push/pull/lift up to 50+ lbs.
- Ability to use and/or learn proper forklift operation.
- Ability to read and understand order forms and serial numbers.
- Ability to be on your feet for extended periods of time.
- Ability to follow written and verbal/non-verbal instructions.
