Job Description
This is a full-time position for a Senior Tax Accountant at Eskew & Associates. The ideal candidate will be responsible for timely and accurate preparation of accounting data in a variety of areas including bookkeeping, financial reports, and tax services. It is essential that this candidate brings analytical, organizational, and strong critical thinking skills. This is an on-site role located in Colorado Springs, CO.
Requirements include:
- Bachelor’s Degree (or higher) in Accounting or an equivalent combination of education, training and experience
- 2-5 years of experience in public accounting within the last 5 years with a focus on tax compliance.
- CPA or EA license or candidate for license preferred.
- Strong technical knowledge of federal, state, and local tax laws and regulations.
- Proficiency in tax preparation software (UltraTax preferred).
- Proficiency with QuickBooks (Online and Desktop) & Microsoft Office programs.
- Strong understanding of accounting principles.
- Ability to manage multiple priorities and deadlines in a fast-paced, deadline-driven environment.
- Excellent attention to detail.
- Effective communication and interpersonal skills.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
- High level of professionalism, integrity, and commitment to client service excellence.
Responsibilities include but are not limited to:
- Informing clients or employers on the tax preparation process.
- Collecting relevant financial records, including pay stubs and income statements.
- Monitor, review and verify accounting records and transactions.
- Review and analyze reports for accuracy in the preparation of financial statements.
- Ensure compliance with internal policies, agency rules and regulations and generally accepted accounting principles.
- Examine accounts, records and compute taxes owed according to current laws and regulations.
- Keeping abreast of current IRS and state and local tax rules and regulations and ensuring full compliance.
- Preparation of federal and state tax forms and returns.
- Assist in the development of financial projections and forecasts.
- Ability to provide QuickBooks support to clients.
- Posting necessary year-end adjusting journal entries.
- Understanding and preparing bank reconciliations.
- Prepare documentation for external auditors.
- Advising clients about tax liabilities and other tax-related matters.
- Building customer relationships to promote and expand the business.

- 40 hr Work Week, Extended Hours in Tax Season (Feb-April)
Supplemental pay types:
Job Type: Full-time
Pay: $75,000.00 - $81,000.00 per year
