This is a temporary position with a salary of $20 per hour, Monday to Friday for 8 hours per day, early June through mid August.

Vogel is a well-established nonprofit organization located in Dallas with a history spanning over 36 years. Our core mission is centered around providing exceptional care and early childhood education for young children from homeless and domestic abuse shelters, all within our NAEYC accredited child care facility. Our innovative approach works to support both children and their parents through a two-generation strategy, offering resources that set families on a path toward a brighter future.
What you’ll do
- Cleaning and maintaining building interiors, including floors, walls, windows, and restrooms, to uphold sanitation standards.
- Conducting routine maintenance tasks such as painting, moving boxes, furniture and to ensure facilities are in optimal condition.
- Assisting in the upkeep of outdoor spaces, including garden areas and playgrounds, using sustainable and child-safe methods.
- Ensuring compliance with safety protocols and regulations, including participating in emergency drills.
- Maintaining inventory of cleaning supplies, tools, and equipment, and requisitioning additional items as needed.
- Setting up facilities for events and activities, including arranging furniture and decorations.
What will make you successful in this role (skills)
- High school diploma or G.E.D. required; additional vocational training or certification in building maintenance preferred.
- Minimum of two years experience in janitorial or maintenance field.
- Ability to lift and carry up to 75 lbs., bend, stoop, kneel, and work on ladders.
- Valid driver's license.
- Experience working with children and families experiencing trauma.
- Superior interpersonal skills and ability to work well with diverse personalities.
- Resourceful, well-organized, and able to work effectively with minimal supervision.
