A recognized government organization in Virginia is currently seeking a new Relational Database Administrator to join their growing team in a Remote capacity.
Responsibilities:
The Relational Database Administrator will be responsible for:

Ensuring data is stored, organized, displayed, and analyzed in a way that allows users to perform business-related tasks

Installing, maintaining, and optimizing database servers and systems to ensure they run efficiently and are available to authorized users

Managing database access
-
Creating and managing reports, visualizations, and dashboards
-
Automating repeating tasks
-
Diagnosing and troubleshooting database errors
-
Performing other duties, as needed
Qualifications:
-
4+ years of hands-on experience in Relational Database Administration
-
2+ years of experience administering DB2 databases
-
Bachelor's Degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field

Strong understanding of relational databases and distributed database management
-
Proven experience in planning, installation, configuration, and maintenance of database instances
-
Experience in architectural DB designs at an enterprise level including high availability (HA) and scalable architectures
-
Demonstrated ability in disaster recovery planning and execution in HA environments
-
High proficiency with physical database and schema design in 3rd normal form
-
Familiarity with logical-to-physical data modeling
-
Experience in measuring RDBMS performance, using performance metrics to identify bottlenecks, and planning system-level configurations and other optimizations to mitigate performance bottlenecks

Hands-on experience with bulk loading of structured data

Familiarity with database security best practices and techniques

Excellent communication and collaboration skills
