SUMMARY
Sun and Ski Sports is looking for an experienced Director of IT to oversee the IT operations in our organization. Their main duties include identifying the organization’s IT needs, adding updates and enhancements to current computer systems, resolving network related issues, and ensuring employees’ technical issues are resolved efficiently. To be successful as an IT director, you should have an excellent technical aptitude, ability to troubleshoot network issues remotely with employees, as well as superior project and people management skills. Ultimately, an outstanding IT director should maintain smooth, secure, and updated technical operations within an organization.
JOB RESPONSIBILITIES
- Overseeing all IT operations infrastructure.
- Maintain company hardware and software programs.
- Implement company-wide technology updates.
- Analyze existing operations and make recommendations for the improvement and growth of IT systems.
- Oversees and manages vendors, vendor contracts and appropriate SLAs.
- Facilitates communication between staff, management, vendors, and other technology resources within and outside of the organization.
- Works on network related issues/troubleshooting as needed.
- Interacts with direct reports and peers in management / customers / vendors to interpret information and improve cross-functional processes and programs.
- Manage the IT team including programmers, support technicians and vendors.
- Manages budgets, operational plans, and performance requirements for the specified are of responsibility. Responsible for meeting budgetary goals and objectives.
- Work with stakeholders to define business and systems requirements for new and innovative technology implementations that meet the evolving business needs.
REQUIREMENTS
- Bachelor's degree in computer science or a related equivalent hands-on work experience.
- Knowledge of AS400/RPG is a plus.
- 5+ years of IT experience.
- At least 2 years of management experience in an IT environment.
- Sound working knowledge of IT operations, systems, and developments.
- Strong Microsoft Office program experience, including Excel and Word.
- Ability to work well under pressure while consistently meeting time sensitive deadlines.
- Ability to work well independently, as well as effectively contribute to a team environment.
