Summary: The Supply Chain Analyst is responsible for gathering data and conducting analysis with the goal of improving S.P. Richards’ supply chain operations by increasing efficiency and reducing costs. This person should be a proven problem solver who has an analytical mind and a strong grasp on supply chain concepts (inventory and demand planning). The Analyst will be expected to work effectively with cross-functional teams, including colleagues from Supply Chain, Merchandising, Operations, Marketing, and/or Pricing. The Analyst should be comfortable working under pressure.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities (Others may be assigned)
Data Collection
-
Gathering data from a variety of internal databases using SQL queries and reporting systems.
Data Visualization
-
Building graphs, charts, and dashboards in Excel and Qlik to track department Key Performance Indicators (KPIs). KPIs may include: Service Line Fill, Missed Sales Dollars, Inventory by DC, etc.
Customer Missed Sales Analysis

Running reports to identify missed sales opportunities.

Taking action to adjust inventory to capture those sales in the future.
Projections and Forecasts

Leveraging Manhattan IO and company data sources to create purchase projections for vendors.
Process Improvement Projects

Leading various process improvement projects as needed.

Pulling data, analyzing data, and making recommendations for improvements.

Examples of projects include: Excess inventory reduction, stocking strategy analysis, data integrity improvement.

Qualifications:

Strong Data Visualization skills required. Experience using Tableau, Qlik, or PowerBI required.

Strong Microsoft Excel skills required, VBA and process automation experience is a big plus.

Ability to write queries in SQL and Oracle (Crystal Reports).

3-5 years experience in analyzing business processes.

Strong oral and written communication skills. Experience interacting with/supporting customers.

Ability to prioritize and manage multiple projects.

Supervisory Responsibilities:

Education and/or Experience:
Undergraduate degree preferred. Three to five years experience in analyzing business processes (specifically supply chain/purchasing processes).
Knowledge of SPR business processes across multiple functional areas a plus.
Computer Skills: Advanced Microsoft Excel and Data Visualization experience required.
Language Skills:
Ability to read, analyze, and interpret general business periodicals, professional journals, technical procedures, or governmental regulations. Ability to document business processes and procedures. Ability to effectively present information and respond to questions from groups of managers, clients, customers, and the general public.
Mathematical Skills:
Ability to calculate figures and amounts such as discounts, interest, commissions, proportions, percentages, area, circumference, and volume. Ability to apply concepts of basic algebra and geometry.
Organizational Skills:
Must be detail oriented and exceptional in organization techniques. Must be self-motivated, with ability to set and achieve goals, and set priorities of multiple tasks in order to meet deadlines.
Reasoning Ability:
Ability to define problems, collect data, establish facts, draw valid conclusions, and make sound business process decisions. Ability to interpret an extensive variety of technical instructions in mathematical or diagram form and deal with several abstract and concrete variables.
