Purpose and Key Responsibilities:
Manage and direct the complete operational activity of the press and crew to efficiently maintain safety, quality, and production standards while effectively minimizing waste and maximizing customer satisfaction. .
Essential Tasks:
- Insure that the various auxiliary items and raw materials being used, including paper stock, ink, press plates, and related chemistry coincide with the specifications for each particular job or run.
- Interpret color control bar to achieve proper ink density per company and/or customer standards.
- Compare printed signatures during production runs with various supplied samples
- Perform densitometer readings and make corresponding adjustments to achieve proper densities per company and/or customer standards (specific customers only).
- Designate samples for downstream processes per customer copies
- Pull two (2) sample sigs with appropriate data and insert in job bag for QC check
- Record various job data in the SFIS (Shop Floor Information System)
- Perform set-ups, adjustments and certain maintenance procedures on the press as needed.
- Work flexible hours as needed.
- Comply with all company rules and procedures.
- Perform other duties as assigned by the Pressroom Manager, Supervisors or Senior LBM

Physical/Intellectual Requirements - must be able to:
- stand for extended periods.
- frequently push, pull, hold, carry, support or stabilize job related items such as tools, plates, bottles, cartons, etc.
- frequently see and distinguish subtle color (b&w density) variations in printed product.
- hear warning bells, buzzers, announcements and other job and/or safety related sounds
- frequently sit, stoop, bend, walk, reach or kneel as required.
- occasionally lift up to 50 pounds.
- occasionally move rolls or loads as required either manually or with motorized or mechanical devices
- frequently read and comprehend all related job documents including job tickets, the
SFIS terminal, or other job related documents as they may change over time
