We are hiring a Systems Administrator to support a federal government customer in Alexandria, Virginia. Candidates need to be located within daily commuting distance of Alexandria.
Requirements:
Responsibilities

Maintain smooth operations of multi-user computer systems, including coordination with network engineers.

Monitors and manages system resources, including CPU usage, disk usage, and response times to maintain operating efficiency.

Manage the configuration of operating systems
-
Performs systems security administration functions, including creating user profiles and accounts.

Adding, removing or updating user information such as logins and passwords.
-
Other duties many include setting up administrator accounts, maintaining system documentation, tuning system performance, installing system wide software and allocating mass storage space. Interacts with users and and evaluates vendor products.

Makes recommendations to purchase hardware and software, coordinates installation and provides backup recovery.

Develops and monitors policies and standards for allocation related to the use of computing resources.

Maybe assigned responsibility for less experienced staff.

Career level with a complete understanding and wide application of technical principles, theories and concepts.

Working under only general direction and provides technical solutions to a wide range of difficult problems.

Pull ethernet cables, run coper, and create fiber cables as needed.
Requirements

Active Secret clearance

Bachelor's degree in engineering plus five (5) relevant experience
