The Desert West Chapter serves Nevada, Arizona, and New Mexico.
The Development Coordinator will play a key chapter role the support and execution of all fundraising efforts for the Chapter in Nevada. The Chapter footprint also includes Arizona and New Mexico and may require assistance with efforts in those markets on occasion.
Working closely with the Market Director and chapter functional lead staff, the Development Manager will be assigned work that will involve supporting specific components of our core fundraising programs and community building activities; Hope Gala, One Walk, Community Engagement & Outreach, Other Special Events and Third Party Activities. Additional functions will include but are not limited to the areas of, event logistics and software data entry, donor stewardship, operations, and volunteer recruitment and engagement.
This is a remote position based in Las Vegas, Nevada and is part of the Desert West Chapter that includes Nevada, Arizona, and New Mexico. While you will not be required to be in an office, you will be expected to meet with donors, committee members, volunteers, and participants in the greater Las Vegas area.
Responsibilities
- Support the coordination of fundraising and non-fundraising efforts directed by supervisor, in collaboration with all Chapter staff as well as the Regional and National resource teams, and volunteer leadership.
- Support fundraising and other mission and outreach activities designed to increase the identification, education, cultivation, and stewardship of fundraisers, donors, participants, and volunteers.
- Support the development and execution of plans for assigned projects and/or events. Participate in fundraising related meetings as assigned. Develop and assist in delivering presentations as requested.
- Manage, execute and serve as lead staff for auction procurement, data entry and auction execution to support fundraising budget for the Hope Gala.
- Partner with the Chapter staff and leadership volunteers to identify, solicit, recruit and develop additional committee volunteers, as assigned.
- Develop a peer-to-peer pipeline/portfolio of new families and individuals through Community Engagement efforts, volunteer inquiries and other avenues that bring people to Breakthrough T1D.
- Learn and effectively utilize key systems and tools including Luminate Online, Greater Giving, Sign-up Genius, Salesforce/CRM, and others as determined necessary.
- Strategically and consistently utilize CRM/Salesforce to maximize efficient and effective moves management of donor pipeline for assigned portfolio.
- Assist with event planning and execution, including Hope Gala, One Walk, family engagement events and volunteer-led third-party activities as well as volunteer recruitment and retention efforts. Ensure that event logistics and budget/timelines are met for each assigned activity.
- Oversee assigned community engagement activities and help establish strategic alliances with community organizations and healthcare providers. Collaborate with Chapter community engagement lead staff member to support Chapter objectives.
- Assume various responsibilities for other assigned activities in partnership with Chapter Staff and under the direction of the Market Director.
- Maintain standards for all programs established by the National Program Teams to ensure that the fundraising and program priorities of Breakthrough T1D are always incorporated.
- Comply with Breakthrough T1D's financial policies and procedures. Maintain accurate and complete financial records as required.
- Respond to and follow through with all inquiries, needs, complaints and/or issues in a prompt and courteous manner.
- Ensure the confidentiality and security of all proprietary information.
- Maintain a basic understanding of Breakthrough T1D's mission and research therapeutics.
- Accountable for meeting deadlines, responding to volunteers, Market Director, Executive Director and other Chapter requests.
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree or equivalent experience.
- 4 years work experience, 2+ years fundraising experience.
- Community outreach and engagement experience a plus.
- Strong CRM database knowledge, Salesforce preferred.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office (Outlook, Word, Excel & PowerPoint).
- Must be a self-starter, with the ability to collaborate as a team player.
- Strong verbal and written communication. Excellent interpersonal and relationship-building skills.
- Ability to interface with all levels of staff and volunteers.
- Ability to create and manage process that enhances efficiency of staff work while allowing for donor centricity.
- Detail oriented.
- Ability to travel within the chapter footprint. Occasional evening and weekend work as needed.
