Project Surveyor
We are seeking an experienced surveyor to join our team and oversee field staff to ensure the timely completion of our projects. Your role is crucial in calculating land boundaries in various locations and generating accurate maps and reports of survey results.
Responsibilities
- This position requires hands-on experience with engineering instruments and proficiency in GPS, and total station
- Use equipment and tools to accurately measure land features (e.g. longitudes, latitudes)
- Build maps, sketches, and charts, in particular construction as-builts using AutoCAD.
- Must possess exceptional mathematical and analytical skills, coupled with a keen eye for measurements.
- Conduct surveys on project sites.
- Examine previous records and evidence to ensure data integrity.
- Ability to research and read survey plot maps
- Research and design methods for survey processes
- Supervise and provide guidance to field staff
- Report on survey results and findings
- Collaborate with the project management team as it relates to on-going project
Requirements and Skills
- Previous experience as a surveyor or in a similar role
- Working knowledge of GPS and total station equipment
- Familiarity with regional coordinates system and uploading of survey data in AutoCAD.
- Familiarity with creating DTM files
- Tech savvy, including familiarity with CAD software
- Aptitude in math and problem-solving
- Strong attention to detail
- Great organizational and leadership skills
- Ability to communicate effectively.
- Ability to work in a diverse team environment and promote collaboration with all members of the team
- Ability to stand for extended periods of time, walk, climb stairs, bend, stoop, and kneel.
- Ability to work outdoors in hot (90°F +) temperatures.
- Require walking on terrain that may be uneven, muddy, and slippery.
- Exposure to sounds and noise levels that may be distracting or uncomfortable.
Qualifications
- Previous experience as a surveyor or in a similar role
- High School degree or equivalent
- Valid driver’s license

Position may require working evening hours and weekends as needed.
