Expanded Functions Dental Assistant
Job description
Doc Bresler's Cavity Busters is seeking an Expanded Functions Dental Assistant to join our Dresher location. This is an immediate part time position, full time position is a available if candidate is willing to travel to other locations. You must be able to work one Saturday per month.
EFDA responsibilities include, but are not limited to:
Greet parents and review treatment plan for today’s visit.
Prepare the operatory for the patient visit.
Responsible to walk patients back to operatory and verify demographics.
Seat patient in chair and explain procedures to be performed.
Collect, confirm, and record patient health history in digital chart.
Drape patient with protective napkin and set up instrument tray with required supplies.
Take radiographs using digital technology.
Prepare dental materials, cements, amalgams, composites, and impression materials for visit.
Perform impressions and insertion of space maintainers.
Placement, finishing, and polishing of amalgam and composite restorations.
Placement of dental sealants.
Perform coronal polishing.
Placement of matrix bands, wedges, primary crowns.
Chairside assist dentist with management of procedures and during dental emergencies.
Assist dentist with dental charting and provide postoperative instructions prescribed by dentist.
Review visit with parent after treatment, provide postoperative instructions, and lead parent to the front desk for follow up appointments.
Follow proper infection control protocols and prepare the operatory for the next patient.
Routinely clean, disinfect, and restock operatories.
Unbox materials and verifying orders.
EFDA requirements:
Ability to multi task and work in a team environment
COVID-19 vaccination (mandatory)
Requested, but not required:
Experience with Dentrix Enterprise dental software and dental terminology.
Job Type: Part-time
Pay: $26.00 - $30.00 per hour
Expected hours: 16 – 28 per week
