This role includes a night shift differential of an additional $1.50 per hour.
Required Qualification
· Education and/or experience consisting of a high school diploma or equivalent, and minimum 5 years’ experience in Manufacturing machining operations required.
· Basic, Intermediate or Advance Machining Certificate or (Equivalent Experience)
· Aerospace Experience preferred
· Machinist capable of setting up and operating CNC equipment per setup sheet, engineering instructions, work instructions, etc.
· Communication skills required consists of the ability to read and interpret documents such as: (a) safety rules, (b) preventative maintenance instructions, (c) procedure instructions, (d) complex blueprints, (e) work order documents (f) engineering work instructions (g) setup sheets
· Basic shop math
· Able to read and write English proficiently
· Able to write routine reports and correspondence
· Must be able to interpret inspection checklists (ICL) and required quality documentation
· Understanding of GD&T measurement units
· Able to measure and record dimensions per sketches and ICL requirements
· Use of inspection tools, such as, but not limited to:
- Height gages
- Bore gages
- Radius gages
- Dial calipers
- Flapper gages
- Scales
- Veneer
- Micrometers
- Ultrasonic gages
- Ring gages
- Plug gages
- Use of wires to check threads
- Use of snap gages
- Optical comparator
· Ability to work in a team environment
· Able to work under pressure in fast pace environment to meet daily targets
· Must be “solution” oriented and able to systematically resolve problems
· Must have good attendance & punctuality history and reliable
· Must be able to think on your feet and make decisions quickly
· Experience with Kaizen, 5S, Continuous Improvement and Lean Enterprise practices

Other Qualifications (which are not required, but desirable):
· Ability to learn new processes and techniques quickly
· Should be currently enrolled or have successfully completed a course or series of courses that result in certification that has, or will expand the individuals machining, leadership and team building knowledge and capabilities.
· Successfully completes a minimum of 1 course every 12 months that enhances or adds to his / her professional growth.
· A thorough understanding of continuous improvement and its execution and implementation.
· Ability to cross-train and mentor machinists under his / her direction.
· Ability to setup and operate CNC lathes, CNC Mills (up to 5 axis), CNC Hobber, CNC Cylindrical Grinder, and CNC Mill Turn machines
· Thorough understanding of advanced tool technology and cutting theory, such as:
- Speeds, feeds, and surface feet
- Selection of cutting tools and holders
- Ability to program CNC equipment when needed, i.e. programs for chuck jaws, fixtures, tooling, etc.
- Ability to read and understand CAM programs (G & M Codes)
- Tool and fixture design and selection
- Familiar with various materials
- Experience with long tubular parts with thin walls
- Experience with steady-rest and working with tailstocks
· Must possess solid math skills, including excellent trigonometry skills
· Be able to design, manufacture and test tooling and fixture configurations
· Ability to use automated tooling acquisition system
· Able to take constructive criticism and direction
· Ability to take castings or impressions for purposes of inspection
Essential Duties and Responsibilities (Other duties may be assigned)
· Issue, know and execute PAS Quality procedures
· Familiar with company’s products and processes
· Knows, adheres and executes PAS mission statement
· Carryout / execute activities assigned by Shift Supervisor according to PAS Management Standards. This may include, although not limited to: (a) training, (b) planning, (c) production requirements, (d) daily work assignments, (e) resolving problems, (f) communicating with Apprentices, (g) assist in prioritizing and scheduling
· Execution of the schedules, including tooling requirements
· Meet the needs of production from the Shift Supervisor without exceeding the daily shift patterns established
· Participate in RCCA process and take necessary steps to implement when called to do so
· Comply with daily shift pattern
· Utilization, reporting and recording of data using ERP
· No quality “escape” within the cell
· Report any problems in production that will hinder your ability to meet the daily production immediately to the Lead man
· Operation of equipment to satisfy requirements set by Shift Supervisor
· Recommend process improvements
· Implement engineering change orders
· Cross-training of employees
· Participate in physical inventories
· Perform duties as assigned by Shift Supervisor
