Hunting, Dearborn Division is seeking a self-motivated, detail-oriented, Electro-Mechanical Technician, to join our team in Fryeburg, ME. The Electro-Mechanical Technician performs skilled maintenance, repair, adjustment, and minor construction work in the trades to ensure that facilities are properly maintained and meet Company standards. Duties may fall into a variety of trades, including carpentry, painting, plumbing, electrical, mechanical, energy management/HVAC, fire and life safety and keys/security systems. This position is distinguished by the responsibility for a wide variety of non-routine assignments across multiple trades.
The Maintenance department at Hunting Dearborn repairs and maintains over 200 pieces of precision production equipment and the 150,000 square foot facility which houses it. This requires coordination amongst the Maintenance staff as well as outside contractors and consultants.

Responsibilities
- Electrical troubleshooting of 24V control circuits and 480V 3-phase power, using electrical schematics, DMM, and oscilloscope.
- Troubleshooting of motion control systems including servo motors, drives, and cables.
- Mechanical troubleshooting of ball screws, clutches, and transmission drive trains.
- Inspection, leveling and alignment of CNC and manual machine tools.
- Repair and maintenance of hydraulic equipment.
- Mechanical repairs.
- Troubleshooting and diagnostics of CNC control systems (Siemens, Fanuc, Heidenhain).
- VFD and PLC troubleshooting.
- Equipment inspection with vibration analysis and thermal imaging tools.
- Installation of new equipment.
- Performs electronic recordkeeping related to preventive maintenance, repairs, modifications, and installations. Tracks and closes assigned work orders.
- Maintains a broad working knowledge of materials, systems and code requirements related to maintenance of Company facilities.
- Promptly responds to equipment failures, troubleshoot, repair, and test to return equipment to service.
- Works closely with purchasing agents to track and acquire the repair parts and supplies needed to maintain equipment.
- Knows and understands all safety procedures of the Company. Assists in machine safety inspections.
- Performs other duties as assigned.
Required Skills and Experience:
Education and Training:
- High school diploma or equivalent, higher education preferred.
- Must have a valid driver’s license for operation of a motor vehicle in Maine and possess an acceptable driving record.
Experience:
- Five years of machine maintenance, repair, or installation experience in a commercial or industrial setting. Two years of education or training, or an associate degree in the engineering or industrial field may substitute for two years of work experience.
- Demonstrates a strong background in electrical and mechanical fields. Position incumbents provide input to management regarding the work, including participating in planning maintenance work, participating in project management tasks, and investigating and resolving unusual situations.
- Power and hand tools used in facilities maintenance; recordkeeping techniques and regulations; OSHA workplace health and safety standards and procedures; use of personal computers to use recordkeeping tools, automated system controls, and email.
- Communicates in an effective, clear, and organized manner in oral and written form. Follows expected guidelines regarding client and organizational communication, data sensitivity, and with appropriate regard to complexity.
- Self-directed and resourceful with regard to individual and team problem solving. Initiates new processes or ideas and channels them appropriately to improve customer service within Company guidelines.
