Kendal at Hanover is seeking a Clinical Health Educator. The Clinical Health Educator directs a comprehensive education program for KaH staff based on evidence-based practices, regulatory requirements, and Kendal Core Values. They coordinate resident and community member education sessions when needed and assist in improvement initiatives and development activities through planning, coordinating, implementing, evaluating, and monitoring community development and education needs.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities include the following:
· Partners with department directors and organizational leaders to provide instructional design and the development and delivery of educational curriculum and training.
· Systematically collects, processes, and analyzes data, to determine if staff are competent in a given topic and/or revise educational materials to address any gaps.
· Develops new and reviews current education and training, revamps educational topics/courses to cater to different learning styles and ensure learners understand the topics.
· Manages and reviews learning products that may include online courses, instructional manuals, video tutorials, learning simulations, etc.
· Develops and plans a variety of instructional settings, techniques, and methods, including guest speakers, webinars, hands-on competency assessments, etc.
· Provides educational offerings to meet current clinical standards of practice in the aging services industry through means of data, assessment, and collaboration with Leadership.
· Develops, evaluates, and oversees the orientation process for Health Services staff, which includes preparing educational materials and coordinating resources. Assures that orientation checklists are completed in a timely manner.
· Develops and manages staff preceptor or mentor program for new hires for Health Services staff. Provides regular and as needed follow-up to new health services staff on all shifts to determine progress during the 90-day orientation period.
· Offers clinical skills competence, education, and testing that meets KaH standards and goals, federal and state regulatory and licensure requirements, and industry standards.
· Actively participates in the QAC processes while addressing educational opportunities to improve quality outcomes and measures.
· Manages current federal and state required trainings and provides attendance records to department leadership.
· Educates the community (resident, staff, visitors, etc.) on infection control practices and coordinates corresponding staff education topics, to include regular BLS courses for KaH staff.
· Provides clinical care within the scope of practice as an LPN or RN when necessary. Directs a comprehensive education program for KaH staff based on evidence-based practices, regulatory requirements, and Kendal Core Values. Coordinates resident and community member education sessions when needed. Assists in improvement initiatives and development activities through planning, coordinating, implementing, evaluating, and monitoring community development and education needs.
