Accounts Payable Representative

Signature Homes is currently seeking an Accounts Payable Representative for our Hoover, AL office. The right candidate will be a detail-oriented person who is enthusiastic about improving the overall efficiencies of our team and able to achieve consistent and accurate work with accounts payable transactions.
Responsibilities:

Receive and review invoices for appropriate documentation prior to payment

Perform invoice and general-ledger data entry into accounting software

Execute credit card payments & reconciliation

Run AutoPay reports to pay vendors with purchase orders

Review all bills for appropriate general ledger codes and process for payment

Obtain and print signatures on all checks

Upload EFT payment files to the bank

Reconcile vendor statements when received

Communicate with business partners and vendors to resolve and clarify invoice discrepancies and payment inquiries

Participate in ad hoc accounting projects, financial analysis, and reporting on an as needed basis.

Responsible for vendor management including setting up new vendors and updating vendor records as necessary

Assist other team members, Controller and CFO as needed
Skills and Experience:

High School Diploma or GED equivalent required

Basic understanding of accounting concepts and procedures

2+ years experience as a part of an accounting team is a plus

Ability to organize and prioritize work and work effectively in a collaborative team environment as well as independently

Advanced knowledge of Microsoft Excel.
