Salary Range: $43.26 - $46.00 Hourly
SUMMARY:
Under administration supervision of the Director of Clinic Operations with direction of the Chief Medical Officer, the mammography technologist performs screening mammograms.
DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Responsible for verbalizing and/or demonstrates knowledge of clinical information and practices providing direct patient care for patients ranging in age from adult through geriatric.
- Responsible for performing mammography.
- Responsible for practicing radiation safety.
- Responsible for utilizing correct patient positioning and exposure factors.
- Responsible for assessing quality and appropriateness of images with minimal supervision.
- Responsible for performing daily checking of mammography machine and reports malfunctions to immediate supervisor and participates in routine testing of the machine.
- Responsible for maintaining patient’s records and documents services provided accurately.
- Responsible for performing and/or participating in the Imaging services Process Improvement, Quality Assurance, Quality Control and Mammography Quality Standard Act of 1992 (MQSA) activities as may be required. Maintains confidentiality of patient and center information.
- Responsible for conforms, performs and/or participates in all mandated and/or voluntary programs of the Imaging services to comply with the provision of JCAHO, DHS, and any regulatory agency requirements.
- Responsible for complying with agency’s policies, procedures and protocols and for conforming, performing, and/or participating in all mandated and/or voluntary programs of the Imaging services to comply with the provision of JCAHO, DHS, and any regulatory agency requirements.
- Responsible for setting a high personal standard for accuracy in her work.
- Responsible for actively contributing to team effort by volunteering to assist co-workers in time of need.
- Responsible for equipment sterilization as assigned and follows safety and infection control policy and procedures.
- Responsible for actively participating in the Improving Organization Performance Program, to include The Joint Commission, Patient Care Medical Home, Infection Control Program, Safety Program, and Emergency Preparedness
- Responsible for following all Agency safety and health standards, regulations, procedures, policies, and practices.
- Responsible for other related duties as assigned.
REQUIREMENTS:
- Graduate of an accredited radiology program.
- Two years of experience as mammography technician.
- State of California certification. California Radiology Technician (CRT)
- Mammography certification. California Radiology Technician-Mammogram (CRT-M)
- American Registry of Radiologic Technologists (ARRT) and American Registry of Radiologic Technologist (Mammography) (ARRT(M))
