The Senior Manager – Adult Services position works closely with the Senior Director, Assistant Directors, and Managers of Adult Day programs to understand and maintain focus on the department’s analytical needs by proactively analyzing data to answer key questions for optimal day program performance. The successful candidate will also manage adult day programs in the event an Assistant Director or Center Manager is absent. The Senior Manager is also responsible for establishing standards of performance and analyzing Adult Services data to help the department optimize utilization of its resources.
The selected leader will influence across all day programs, provide insight on specific program trends and effectively share ideas for desired program management using their expertise in managing the health and wellness needs of individuals served.
They will also partner with the Assistant Directors of Adult Services, Health Services, Residential, Quality Assurance, and Human Resources to achieve the Agency’s mission and effectively manage day program operations that meet the needs of the Monmouth County I/DD community.
The Senior Manager recommends improvements in alignment with the rules and regulations of the Department of Developmental Disabilities (DDD) and in compliance with the policies and procedures of The Arc and the standards of its funding sources to increase served individual and employee engagement and retention. The successful candidate can balance daily analysis focus with hands on work as needed including personal hygiene, medication administration, community support, and serves as a member of the Adult Services leadership team.
Qualifications:
Bachelor’s Degree or equivalent experience, with a minimum of three years of using analytical tools and processes mandatory. Experience with successful programmatic, operations and administrative day program management working with adults with Intellectual and Developmental Disabilities required. Strong analytical skills, interpersonal communications, both verbal and written, computer skills, and knowledge of electronic medical records systems required. Thorough knowledge of DDD, CARF and other external regulations and requirements a must. Demonstrated follow up, organization, team focused skills. Crisis Management training and Ukeru experience strongly preferred.
Valid NJ driver’s license, and a driving record which is acceptable to The Arc of Monmouth, Inc., and its insurer.
Responsibilities:
-1. Create best practice reports utilizing Therap information including participant attendance, tier levels and strategies to effectively transform data into readable, goal-oriented recommendations for optimal adult day program management.
2. Lead preparation of CARF, DDD and other related audits.
3. Partner with the Assistant Directors, Program Managers & Associate Managers to improve participant individual and group level services, foster and maintain positive employee/management relations, develop an atmosphere of cooperation and teamwork, efficiently identifying problems and solutions to continue staff development and retention.
4. Evaluate day program staff to ensure excellence is upheld and adequate program coverage, scheduling, hiring, training, documenting and staff disciplinary actions, if necessary, are occurring.
5. Attend meetings as required, including but not limited to interdisciplinary team meetings and staff meetings.
6. Use appropriate intervention and assume responsibility for and complete all reporting procedures in an unusual incident and/or emergency situation.
7. To provide supervision, guidance and training on daily management and issues related to Medication Administration in electronic records system advising Compliance Director or Senior Director as needed.
8. Observe and incorporate effective activities or groups for served individuals relating to their specific needs.
9. To provide guidance, support, training and supervision to program staff and managers and provide documentation to Human Resources on all trainings related to Professional Development.
10. To cooperate with inspections or investigations conducted by The Arc of Monmouth and/or by the New Jersey Department of Human Services or the Division of Developmental Disabilities.
11. All other duties as assigned by the Senior Director of Programs and Vocational Services.
