We are currently seeking Part-Time Home Chore Aides to assist our older adults in the northern suburbs of Chicagoland, specifically Des Plaines, Park Ridge, Skokie, Glenview, Morton Grove, Lincolnwood, Northbrook, Wilmette, Glencoe.
Pay: $16.00 per hour
Appointments: Generally 2-4 hours long - including one-hour paid commute time. Generally day shift hours Monday - Friday, but you may schedule appointments on weekend days with prior agreement by management.
Schedule: As you prefer! You can work as many or as few appointments each week as you prefer. You can work with the assigned clients to match your preferred appointment date/time to their availability. But once you are assigned clients, a consistent repeated weekly schedule is required. We prefer you work between 12 and 30 hours per week.
Benefits: Regular up to 29 hrs/max per week includes eligibility for dental, vision, life, short-term disability insurance, and 401k plan. Schedules of less than 20 hours per week do not include insurance benefits.
The position includes the following type of services:
- Light housekeeping includes: vacuuming, mopping, dusting, cleaning of the bathroom/kitchen, laundry, grocery shopping, light meal preparation, etc.
- Occasional grocery shopping/assisting with appointment schedules may also be required. The client would provide you with their list of items or may simply need to pick up their order from the grocery store!
You would be required to:
- Work with management and the client to schedule appointments with clients
- Contact clients each week to remind them of their appointment and that you are coming!
- Arrive to appointments on time, be dependable, courteous, confidential and respectful to clients at all times
- Use your own transportation to get to and from appointments
- Use the cleaning products and tools provided by the client - no carrying heavy cleaning products, tools or vacuums back and forth.
- When performing any shopping for the client, you may not use the client’s vehicle or take them with you in your vehicle. You must obtain a form of payment beforehand, or be reimbursed directly afterwards.
- Attend agency training meetings as needed.
- Light physical activity, including occasional lifting of 5 - 10 lbs, regular standing, walking, twisting, pulling, pushing to vacuum, mop, change bed sheets, laundry and clean. Full use of arms and hands to clean high and low. Occasionally lean over and squat to pick up items off the floor and clean.
- Speak basic English for simple conversations relating to services performed and role.
