Position Purpose:
Assists the Branch Service Manager (BSM) in providing the operational, control and service delivery functions performed in assigned branch location in support of the Regions and Areas located in the office. Will function as BSM in their absence. May also coordinate with centralized processing and other service departments to insure timely resolution to customer inquiries. Insures high quality service delivery to all customers who interact through a branch office. Must be fully proficient in new accounts.
Essential Functions and Basic Duties:
Customer Service: Provides high quality service to customers who contact branch office consistent with the Bank's Mission Statement. Assists BSM in encouraging staff to cross-sell services as appropriate to meet customer needs, enhance customer satisfaction and assist in meeting branch deposit goals. Insure that customer complaints and inquiries are reported and resolved timely and effectively. Elevate customer service issues to Branch Service Manager when appropriate.
Risk Management/Operations Quality: Assists BSM to insure adequate control over branch assets through enforcement of bank policies, adequate oversight of branch control processes. Exercises sound judgment in approvals and recommendations. Must be fully proficient with all aspects of new accounts. Assists BSM with the monthly certification to insure it is processed and completed timely and accurately.
Resource Management: Assists the Branch Service Manager with the recruitment, training and coaching of staff to meet goals and provide appropriate levels of service. Helps to ensure team members are motivated and supported. May also assist the BSM with performance reviews and disciplinary actions.
Staffing: Works with the Branch Service Manager to monitor work volume to insure appropriate staff levels in the branch. Coordinates work schedules to insure adequate coverage during peak periods, lunch periods and vacations. This position requires that a teller cash drawer is assumed and utilized for optimum customer service.
Customer Responsibilities:
- Following established procedures, explains and opens new accounts to include checking, savings, time certificates of deposits, safe deposit boxes, IRA’s, business plan accounts and online banking
- Maintains appropriate records, performs appropriates credit checks, gives customers proper disclosures on all accounts
- Performs as a teller when needed
- Cross-sells bank products to each customer that opens an account
- Inputs all appropriate client information into the bank’s computer system for all new accounts
- Orders customer checks, deposit slips, endorsement stamps, etc.; ensures customer is charged the appropriate fee for each service
- Processes change of address and other changes affecting the status of customer accounts
- Maintains and updates signature card files, daily reports, maintenance reports, CD maturing reports
- Responsible for rollover calls
- Encodes/proofs over the counter work
- Complies with all Compliance Regulations
- BSA Responsibilities
- Performs other duties as required
Qualifications
Education:
- Graduation from high school or equivalent (GED) required. Degree in related field preferred.
Required Knowledge:
- Thorough knowledge of all types of account ownership, account classifications and bank services
- Basic knowledge of personal computers and applicable software.
Experience Required:
- 4 years prior banking experience including at least 2 year as a New Accounts Representative or Personal Banker and 1 year in supervision supervisory role.
Skills/Abilities:
- Good interpersonal and customer service skills.
- Good organizational skills
- Ability to add, subtract, multiply and divide.
- Working knowledge of MS Word and Excel
- Ability to understand and participate in Summit Bank’s sales culture.

Pay: $54,337.00 - $78,591.00 per year
