Primary Responsibility:
- Technical aspects: Ensuring the website's performance and capacity, such as how fast it is and how much traffic it can handle
- Look and feel: Creating a visually appealing website that matches the brand's style and provides a smooth shopping experience for customers
- Functionality: Building user-friendly interfaces and implementing desired features
- Compatibility: Ensuring the website is compatible with search engines, browsers, and mobile interfaces
- Content: Developing sites that contain relevant content and are easy to navigate
- Updates: Improving existing pages to increase visibility, usability, or conversions
- Security: Developing system applications that adhere to industry best practices and security
- Integration: Integrating websites with other computer applications and payment processing systems
- Collaborate closely with clients, project managers, and designers to understand specific e-commerce objectives and translate them into effective solutions.
- Conduct thorough testing, debugging, and quality assurance to ensure e-commerce websites are error-free and perform seamlessly.
- Stay updated on the latest e-commerce technologies, platforms, and trends, incorporating them into projects to deliver modern and innovative solutions.
- Optimize e-commerce websites for maximum performance, search engine optimization (SEO), and conversion rates, following best practices and coding standards.
- Actively participate in code reviews, providing valuable feedback to enhance code quality and maintain development standards.
- Troubleshoot and resolve e-commerce functionality and integration issues, ensuring a smooth and reliable shopping experience for users.
- Other duties as assigned.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree in computer science, Software Engineering, or a related field, or equivalent practical experience.
- Minimum of 6 to 10 years of Proven track record as an eCommerce Developer, with demonstrated success in implementing and maintaining online stores.
- Proficiency in popular eCommerce platforms like Shopify, Magento, or WooCommerce, including customization and API integrations.
- Strong grasp of web technologies including HTML, CSS, JavaScript, and experience with frameworks like React or Angular.
- Familiarity with RESTful APIs and web services to seamlessly connect eCommerce platforms with third-party solutions.
- Deep understanding of payment gateway integrations, including PCI compliance and secure transaction handling.
- Experience with version control tools such as Git, fostering a collaborative codebase.
- Expertise in optimizing site performance, focusing on speed, scalability, and SEO best practices.
- Ability to work both independently and in a team-oriented, agile environment, adapting to evolving project needs.
- Exceptional communication skills, facilitating effective dialogue between technical teams, stakeholders, and non-technical personnel.
