We seek Medical Assistants for the clinic nursing teams at our Edina, Eden Prairie, and Burnsville locations. This position provides and supports quality patient care through a variety of day-to-day functions. Available hours include days (8am - 5pm), possible evening clinic until 8:30pm, and Saturday morning (8am - noon) rotation. Flexibility to travel or work out of more than one clinic location is desired.
Additionally, we like to provide continuing education in x-ray for all clinic nursing staff. This would include a course that will prepare you to take the Minnesota Department of Health Limited Scope X-Ray Examination. After successful completion of Medical Assistant orientation and training interested employees will be considered for the Limited Scope X-Ray continuing education benefit based on performance and business needs. Southdale Pediatrics will pay for the course, materials, and your time. Upon passing the tests for all required modules and obtaining a Limited Scope X-Ray certification from the state of Minnesota you will receive a wage increase and be expected to cross-cover in our x-ray department.
Medical Assistant Position Responsibilities:
- Comprehensive intake including: height, weight, and vitals
- Hearing and vision screens
- Deliver injections including vaccines, influenza, and PPD/TB testing
- Collect NP, throat, and nasal swabs
- Run the following waived kit tests: RSV, influenza and strep.
- Assist with procedures
- Other clinic skills including: nebulizer treatments & administering injections
- Patient and family education
- Care coordination
- Documentation in the EMR
- Cleaning and stocking clinic rooms
- Eventual certification in limited scope x-ray which will add to the variety of day-to-day tasks as you provide coverage in that department
Qualifications & Skills:
- Completion of a Medical Assisting program
- CMA or RMA certification preferred
- Limited scope x-ray certification valued but not required
- Experience with the pediatric population is valued
