Position Summary Description
A Lead or Senior Load Forecasting Analyst is a high-performing team member concentrated in data analysis for Seminole and its distribution Members. Personally involved in and supports staff development and monitoring long-term and short-term load forecasts by Member and Seminole in aggregate, data analytics, and Member appliance saturation surveys. The team works cross-departmentally to support critical business needs including budgeting, business planning, and energy efficiency.
Essential Functions

Maintains a consumer-centric focus for Seminole’s Members.

Personally and effectively develops and maintains long-term and short-term load forecast data requirements, data collection, data processing, exploratory data analysis, modeling and algorithms, and data product.

Presents results of work product to Seminole and Member staff, executives, and Seminole’s Board of Trustees.

Performs data analysis for various departments including Rates, Budgeting, Business Planning, and Energy Efficiency. Provides status reports, executive summaries, presentations, and detailed reports, as required.

Serves as a subject-matter-expert regarding load and economic trends which may affect our industry, our business, or our Members’ businesses and to support strategic planning, as needed.

Participates in System Operations morning meetings to provide input on peak demand load forecasts, as required.

Reviews colleagues’ work regularly and provide feedback, if necessary.

Personally involved in development and issuance of the Residential Appliance Saturation Survey as well as the analysis and incorporation of the results of the survey in the long-term load forecast.

Responds to frequent data and information requests in a timely manner.

Facilitates communication and participation with universities, regulatory and governmental agencies, and third parties as needed.

Actively listens, asks questions, and follows up in order to effectively address business needs.

Participates in educational conferences, forums, and training for relationship-building and networking.

Ensures work plan coordination and procedures are compliant with Rural Utilities Service (RUS), Florida Public Service Commission (PSC), and the North American Electric Reliability Corporation (NERC) standards, guidelines, and regulations.

Performs NERC Compliance Program roles if/as designated in Seminole’s Standard Ownership Matrix (SOM) including ongoing evidence retention in “audit-ready” form as applicable and directed. You should also be familiar with Seminole’s Enterprise Internal Compliance Program (ENT-GCD-RGC-EP-054) to further your understanding of Seminole’s compliance program and the context of your duties and responsibilities attendant to your designation in the SOM.

Qualifications and Education Requirements
Bachelor’s degree required. A graduate degree or course work in science, technology, economics, and/or mathematics is desirable. This position requires seven (7) years of experience in load forecasting or a related field. Graduate level education may substitute for two (2) years of experience.

Physical Requirements
Must be able to follow established protective measures including, wearing required personal protective equipment (PPE). Must possess a valid driver’s license and acceptable Motor Vehicle Report.
Working Conditions
General office working conditions. Some travel and work outside of normal business hours. While working in certain areas of the plant there is the potential for exposure to hazards typical of an industrial working environment.
