Job Description:
To perform daily repair/maintenance work on restaurant equipment/property within assigned locations and to ensure timely/accurate completion of Preventive Maintenance (PM) schedules, while providing ongoing training for store management.
- Performs preventive maintenance service, emergency repair, and cosmetic repair on restaurant equipment and property; performs necessary modifications to equipment installations.
- Assist where necessary in the installation of equipment resulting from special projects (i.e. timers, Chicken strip conversion, etc.)
- Monitors and oversees outside contract work in assigned stores, assures proper coordination and communication between all concerned parties.
- Performs regular inspections of all assigned restaurants and reports the condition of equipment and property, as well as maintenance status.
- Ensures accurate and timely reporting of invoices, maintenance logs, purchase orders, Capital Appropriation Request forms and any other pertinent administrative paperwork necessary. Provides accurate reporting and administrative functions training, as necessary.
- Maintains records of store level equipment inventory, spare parts and company owned tool inventories. Provides reports as requested.
- Assists supervisor with recommendations regarding capital budget expenditures for equipment, building and property repair or replacement.
- Maintains current service and warranty records and prevents unwarranted repair expenses or violation of warranties.
- Performs duties as required for store openings, special events, fairs and the store closing program; assists in transfer, sales and/or disposal of equipment. Assists with supervisory responsibilities in the absence of supervisor, as requested.
- Performs other job related duties as may be assigned or required.
- Maintains a valid driver’s license and acceptable driving record for insurability at average market rate.
KNOWLEDGE:
In-depth/complete technical knowledge of HVAC, refrigeration, electrical repair, carpentry and plumbing. Ability to maintain/repair varied types of electrical, HVAC and refrigeration equipment, read electrical schematics, understand 3-phase electrical and use of various testing equipment.
EDUCATION:
Environmental Protection Agency (EPA) HVAC/R Type 1 and Type 2 certification is required. Technical certification, preferred. Legal licensing may be required in some locations
EXPERIENCE:
3 or more years experience in directly related HVAC, refrigeration and general maintenance/repair work, which includes demonstrated mastery of all areas.
OTHER:
Irregular hours or periodic overtime required. Frequent exposure to extreme weather situations. Required to be on call on a 24 hours basis.
