General Summary:
Due to continued business growth, we have an opportunity for a Warehouse Operator. The warehouse operator assists in loading, unloading, recording, arranging, routing, transporting, and stocking material or product. This position also works to fill orders, and prepare items for shipment, in addition to the maintenance of stock records in warehouse.
Essential Job Functions & Responsibilities:
- Work includes gathering or distributing product or materials within the production/warehouse area.
- Ensure packing lists are verified for entry into SAP
- Will routinely operate lifting devices. Will utilize the lifting devices to move, stack, load, or unload materials in and about the plant/warehouse.
- Work includes pulling orders together and assembling them for shipment to customers or distribution centers.
- Work may include using banding and shrink-wrap machine.
- Partner with Materials Management, Production, and Customer Service to assure products are completed and ready for delivery according to the work order.
- Primary duties are the following: to ship goods from the establishment; prepare records of goods shipped; make up bills of lading; post weight and shipping charges; keep files of shipping records; receive incoming shipments of materials; verify correctness of shipments against bills of lading, invoices, etc; keep records of goods received; report damaged goods and shortages; route goods to the proper departments.
- Prepare export products according to specified packaging requirements.
- Verify identity and quantity of items received against purchase order for proper shipment.
- Ensure compliance to company policies and maintain a clean and safe environment.
- May occasionally be required to operate the transfer truck (CDL not required).
- Annual RCRA Training including Emergency Coordinator (secondary) refresher, Contingency Plan training, RCRA hazardous waste training.
- Spill/emergency response procedures.
Minimum Qualifications
- High School Diploma or GED required.
- Minimum 2-4 years' experience operating a forklift.
- Minimum 2-4 years’ experience working in a manufacturing environment. Previous chemical experience preferred.
- Ability to write, read, comprehend and follow simple instructions in English.
- Proven ability to perform simple math including addition, subtraction, multiplication, and division.
Physical Demands and Work Environment
This position requires working in an open production facility. the person in this position must be able to:
- Frequent ability to walk, stand, move, and/or navigate in an open warehouse environment.
- Frequent operation of a forklift
- Frequent ability to:
o Climb > 50% of the time
o Balance > 50% of the time
o Stoop > 50% of the time
o Kneel > 50% of the time
o Crouch > 50% of the time
o Crawl > 50% of the time
o Sit > 50% of the time
- Frequent lifting up to 50 lbs.
- Frequent movement of objects up to 2500 lbs. with proper lifting devices
This position requires working in an open production facility in areas that may or may not temperature controlled. Specific environmental conditions include:
- Working inside where temperatures occasionally reach or exceed 90-100°F or could potentially fall below 32°F
- Frequent exposure to fumes and/or unpleasant odors – ammonia/amines/acrylate (no toxic fumes, irritant classification only).
- Occasional intermittent noise levels not to exceed 85db.
- Constant interaction/manipulation of water-based and UV-cured inks.
- Frequent interaction with skin sensitizers and corrosive materials
This position requires compliance with specific Personal Protective Equipment, including but not limited to:
- Safety glasses
- Safety Toe Shoes
- Faceshield and/or dust mask
- Tyvec sleeves, coat, overalls
- Standard Nitrile gloves and Butyl Nitrile gloves
