TITLE: Registered Nurse -PT-Children's Shelter

SUMMARY:
The Registered Nurse (RN) will provide healthcare services for the facility of Flowering Branch Children’s Shelter clients. The RN must be licensed in the state of Georgia and will provide direct care to clients within deliverable time-frames.
DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Evaluate clients by performing physical examinations, eliciting health history, order/interpret diagnostic tests, and recommend clients to specialists as needed;
- Conducts medical inventory monthly that includes counting medication and ensuring medical logs are correct;
- Dispose of clients’ medication monthly;
- Order medical equipment for the facility as needed;
- Signs documents (within legal limitations) which includes Medication Administration Records (monthly);
- Meets with clients’ individually or as a group concerning health concerns as needed;
- Follows monthly communication protocol with the Shelter Managers, as well as function as a medical on-call advisory for the clients 24/7 while following HIPPA guidelines to ensure client confidentiality;
- Maintains client documentation records (medical inventory sheets) at FBCS, in the staff office, and in compliance with HIPPA guidelines to ensure client confidentiality; and
- Reports any concerns and/or inquiries to the Shelter Managers for quality improvement.
QUALIFICATIONS:
- A minimum of five years of experience;
- Obtain and maintain licensure and certifications as an RN during the term of this agreement;
- No prior criminal history;
- Must pass a pre-employment drug test, physical, fingerprint/background check, child registry screening;
- Proficient in written and oral skills;
- Not be guilty of any legal offense related to abuse, misconduct, or child abuse
- must occasionally lift and/or move more than 25 pounds/frequently lift and/or move up to 15 pounds/continually lift and/or move up to 10 pounds;
- Frequently required to stand
- Has relevant organizational knowledge and complies with Flowering Branch and Advocates policies and procedures daily;

The quality of the Registered Nurse performance will be evaluated by the Associate Shelter Managers annually. Employee will be provided with an up-to-date employee policy and procedures manual that articulates:
- conditions of employment;
- benefits if applicable;
- rights and responsibilities of employees; and
- other important and relevant information.
All medical records of clients will be kept in the staff office locked twice, and will be maintained by the HSP, while the Associate Shelter Managers ensure correct documentation, procedures, and proper maintenance of files is correct. The RN will have access of these medical records under supervision of the Associate Shelter Manager(s), and will follow HIPPA guidelines. Circumstances in which this employment may be terminated are as follows, but not limited to:
- Failure to comply with Advocates policies and procedures;
- violating HIPPA;
- not completing the above listed service deliverables within the specified time frame;
- not adhering to the communication protocol; and
- failure to maintain proper licensures, certifications, and trainings.
