Job Summary
Under the direction of the Manager - Wellness, the Wellness Specialist will oversee efforts to support the City of Dallas Total Well-Being initiatives to improve the health and wellness of all team members of the City of Dallas. The Wellness Specialist will support day to day operations for Wellness Team. The Wellness Specialist will administratively assist with supporting the health and wellness programs while providing high quality customer service through interacting with members for engagement and retention.

Overview
Provides administrative support to Wellness Manager, Wellness Liaison and Total Well-Being initiatives, including scheduling meetings, event coordination and setup producing meeting minutes, and providing other operational support as needed.
Essential Functions

Introduces and assists team members with Navigate portal for wellness resources.

Maintains wellness programs, services, schedules, records, and reports.

Promotes wellness programs to determine their effectiveness.

Oversees fitness facilities, ensuring safe and clean facilities and equipment.

Demonstrates proper operation of fitness equipment, such as resistance machines, cardio machines, free weights, or fitness assessment devices.

Tracks attendance, participation, and performance data related to wellness events through Navigate.

Assists in maintaining communication timelines for employees and retirees for incentive tracking program.

Assists with conducting surveys to determine interest in, or satisfaction with, wellness programs, events, or services.

Participates in the promotion of incentive programs through portal for employees and retirees.

Maintains and tracks employee and Pre-65 retiree incentive completion.

Coordinates marketing campaigns through Navigate portal to promote a healthy lifestyle or participation in wellness programs.

Provides employees with requested information about wellness programs or services.

Assists with organizing and executing wellness programs, such as information presentations, blood drives, or events such as organized runs or walks.

Present wellness and benefits program information in various platforms including open enrollment, departmental meetings, and new employee orientations.

Serves as back up for Employee Wellness Liaison.

Ensures the timely completion of assigned projects; performs all other related duties as assigned.
Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities

Knowledge of health and wellness initiatives.

Knowledge of fitness areas, equipment, and safety.

Skill in Microsoft Office Suite (Outlook, Word, PowerPoint, Excel, Teams, Visio).

Ability to maintain privacy and adhere to HIPAA and all other applicable laws.

Minimum Qualifications:
Education
-
Bachelor's degree (or higher) in health promotion, health and wellness management, public/community health, or related field.
Experience
-
Two (2) years of experience in supporting and implementing components of a comprehensive health and wellness program in a large employee population.
Equivalencies:
-
High school diploma or GED plus six (6) years of the required experience will meet the education and experience requirements.

An associate degree in any field plus four (4) years of the required experience will meet the education and experience requirement.
-
A bachelor’s degree (or higher) in a non-specified field plus four (4) years of the required experience will meet the education and experience requirement.

$25.14 - $31.43
