Position Summary:
The Application Development and Automations Manager at USF Federal Credit Union is responsible for overseeing and supporting the code development and automation to support the core processing solution. This role involves supervising the Systems Programmer/Analysts, ensuring that coding efforts meet business and regulatory requirements, and integrating third-party applications to produce innovative solutions. The manager will also ensure the core platform performs according to contractual agreements and that all scheduled jobs, file transmissions, and reports are completed successfully. This position is Hybrid remote, sometimes requiring two in office days a week (or as business requires) otherwise is remote.
Essential Functions Include:

Strategic Leadership
-
Lead the development, testing, and implementation of programs/processes utilizing proprietary core software tools.

Collaborate with stakeholders to understand business needs and translate them into technical requirements.

Ensure that the core platform is processing and performing according to contractual agreements.

Technical Oversight
-
Oversee the installation, configuration, and maintenance of the core financial processing system and mortgage servicing system.
-
Supervise the writing, modification, and maintenance of key core applications using various programming languages.
-
Act as the initial point of contact for core system problems and provide timely solutions.

Team Management
-
Provide guidance and support to the Sr. Systems Programmer/Analyst and other team members.
-
Mentor and train IT team members in best practices for programming, troubleshooting, and supporting integrated processes and software.

Ensure the team is equipped to handle day-to-day core-related issues and inquiries.

Innovation and Integration
-
Research, analyze, and design solutions in alignment with the credit union’s strategic goals.

Integrate third-party applications with the core processing system to enhance functionality.
-
Develop and implement innovative solutions to improve business processes.

Regulatory Compliance and Security
-
Ensure that all systems hardware and software meet regulatory requirements.
-
Maintain the security of the core system at all times.
-
Coordinate, document, and communicate the installation and execution of core software releases, conversions, and upgrades.
Reports to:

Required Education and Experience:
-
Bachelor’s degree in computer science, engineering, programming, or related technical discipline, or equivalent work experience.

Management Certifications or degree preferred

Evidence of Secure Coding Certification / experience
-
Experience with Jack Henry’s Symitar core banking platform.
-
Minimum ten years of progressive experience in Information Technology.
-
Minimum five years experience leading, coaching, and managing teams of five or more developers
-
Minimum seven years of advanced system analyst experience.
-
Minimum five years of programming experience, including API calls and secure coding practices.
-
Experience in Agile/Waterfall project management and change management.
Additional Skills:

In-depth understanding of PowerFrame/PowerOn programming structure and environment.

Extensive working knowledge of Symitar system and Episys data structure.

Proficiency in HTML, JavaScript, Java, SQL scripting, VB, C#, and ASP.NET.

Experience with automation tools such as UIPath or Microsoft PowerAutomate.

Strong analytical, organizational, written, and verbal communication skills.

In-Depth understanding of the PowerFrame/PowerOn programming structure and environment.

Extensive working knowledge of the Symitar system and Episys data structure.

Broad knowledge of Symform, SymConnect, SymXchange a must.

Experience with HTML, JavaScript, Java, SQL Scripting, VB, C#, ASP.NET a plus

Possesses an extensive knowledge of Symitar programming language including advanced batch, demand, File I/O, file maintenance, html, Windows, SymConnect. SymXchange specfile applications.
