Responsibilities:
As a Legal Assistant, you will play a crucial role in supporting our legal team. Your responsibilities will include:
Case Preparation and Research:
- Communicate with clients, gathering necessary documents and information to initiate case building.
- Conduct initial research and provide relevant data to assist our Lawyers.
- Fact-check and compile case evidence.
Administrative Support:
- Manage all administrative tasks within the legal office.
- Calendar hearings, deadlines, and court dates.
- Organize case files and maintain pleadings and discovery indexes.
Document Drafting:
- Draft initial versions of legal documents.
- Ensure confidentiality while organizing and handling legal paperwork.
Collaboration:
- Liaise between our trial team and internal/external third parties.
- Assist attorneys with interrogatories and other discovery requests.
- Gather relevant information from various sources.
Specialization:
- Depending on the needs of the firm and the Lawyers you support, your duties may vary. However, your core responsibilities will align with the legal matters related to our focus industries.
Qualifications:
To excel in this role, you should possess the following qualifications:
- Experience: Proven working experience as a Legal Assistant
- Knowledge: Familiarity with motions, discovery, evidence, litigation documentation, court rules, legal procedures and completing State and Federal eFilings.
- Skills:
- Highly organized with the ability to manage multiple deadlines in a fast-paced environment.
- Proficient in Microsoft Word, Outlook and PDF programs such as Adobe, Nuance/Kofax, etc.
- Strong writing and communication skills.
Job Type: Full-time
Pay: $80,000.00 - $90,000.00 per year

Education:
Experience:
- completing State and Federal eFilings: 4 years (Preferred)
- FileSite, iManage, or equivalent Document management systems: 4 years (Preferred)
- Litigation: 4 years (Preferred)
- legal assistant in a law firm: 5 years (Preferred)
