We are currently looking for an experienced chemical technician to be part our team. This person will working under our Irrigation/Chemical department.
Previous chemical application experience is preferred for this position. We are willing to train, but basic knowledge will be great for a smooth training and transition.
Experience:
Knowledge of backpack sprayers, spreaders and/or calibration equipment.
Basic math skills and conversions required to measure and mix proper amounts of liquids and granular products.
Pesticide Applicator License from Texas Department of Agriculture preferable.
Responsibilities:
- Monitor landscape health by spotting, diagnosing and treating the most common turf/shrub and seasonal color fungus and diseases.
- Operate a Z-Spray and Boom Machine
- Communicate effectively with co-workers and customers
- Ability to complete all job paperwork
- Drive/Operate truck and trailer
- Mix, load, and apply fertilizers/herbicides to numerous sites each day
- Perform the chemical and fertilizer applications on assigned properties
- Maintain proper documentation as required by The Department of Agriculture and Consumer Services.
- The Tech must take a proactive approach to safety by attending all required field safety training and utilizing proper safety equipment.
- The right candidate must be willing to learn, follow processes and procedures and be a team member,
Working Conditions and Physical Effort:
- Work involves considerable exposure to unusual elements such as extreme temperatures, dirt, dust, fumes, smoke, unpleasant odors, and/or loud noises.
- Requires strenuous physical work; heave lifting, pushing or pulling required of objects over 50 pounds.
- Work environment involves some exposure to hazards or physical risks, which require following basic safety precautions.
Requirements:
A valid driver's license will be required.
Commercial pesticide applicator license, preferred but not required.
A minimum of 1year experience preferred.
Job Type: Full-time
Pay: $36,000.00 - $52,000.00 per year
