Responsibilities
Priorities can often change in a fast-paced environment like ours, so this role includes, but is not limited to, the following responsibilities:
- Serve as a staff augmenter/consultant for NYCHA, overseeing design projects under the Mechanical/Plumbing team for NYCHA's Architecture and Engineering Services.
- Conduct comprehensive design reviews and manage external consultants, facilitating progress from design to procurement stages.
- Oversee multiple renovation projects across various NYCHA developments, ensuring quality and adherence to timelines.
- Collaborate with other teams at NYCHA, such as Sustainability and Landscape Architecture, to review any plumbing or mechanical scope in their projects and provide technical expertise as needed.
- Typical projects include boiler replacement projects, hot water heater decoupling, and office and community center renovations.
- Act as the primary liaison between NYCHA and CSA Group, aligning projects with client needs and strategic goals.
- Follow a hybrid remote schedule with 3 days in person and 2 days remote per week.
Requirements
Essential Skills and Experience:
- Bachelor of Science in Mechanical Engineering
- 5 years of mechanical/plumbing design experience
- Experience working on NYCHA projects
- Familiar working in e-Builder
