This position is primarily responsible for the administration, supervision, and coordination of the Child Support Services Department. Work is performed and supervised under the Income Maintenance Administrator II. The normal work schedule includes 8:00 a.m. until 5:00 p.m., Monday through Friday.
KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS AND ABILITIES:
Thorough knowledge of the Child Support Enforcement Program related legal procedures, judicial operations, office management practices and procedures, and supervisory practices and management techniques. Skill in interviewing clients, investigating, and analyzing case variables. Ability to organize and summarize case information. Ability to plan, direct, monitor, and develop the program.
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:
Manages, directs, and coordinates the work of Child Support Supervisors and Paralegal.
Collaborates with agency staff and state and regional staff to assure that policy and procedures are administered accurately.
Coordinates activities with the judicial system and law enforcement.
Utilizes reports for data tracking and reports trends and areas of concern to the Administrator.
Manages workflow and staffing patterns for the department.
Serves as a member on the agency's management team and provides input for agency goals and priorities.
MINIMUM EXPERIENCE & EDUCATION:
Graduation from high school plus six years of experience in investigative, judiciary, eligibility, attorney's office, or related work which provides the knowledge, skills and abilities needed to perform the work, including two years of IV-D experience and two years of supervisory experience; or four year degree plus three and one half years of experience in the Child Support Enforcement Program; or Associate of Arts Degree in business, human resources, law enforcement or closely related field and four years of experience in investigative, judiciary, eligibility, attorney's office, or related work, including two years experience of IV-D experience.
PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS:
This work requires the occasional exertion of up to 10 pounds of force; work regularly requires sitting, speaking or hearing and using hands to finger, handle or feel, frequently requires repetitive motions, and occasionally requires standing, walking and reaching with hands and arms; work has standard vision requirements; vocal communication is required for expressing or exchanging ideas by means of the spoken word; hearing is required to perceive information at normal spoken word levels, work requires operating machines and observing general surroundings and activities; work is generally in a quiet location (e.g., library, private offices).

In the event that the State Emergency Response Team is activated, this position will be required to participate if deemed necessary.
