Job Objective:
Provides fine breakfast service for guest of L’Auberge Carmel each morning. Supervise and train the Breakfast Service team to meet our high standards. Is familiar with and complies with the L’Auberge Carmel and Mirabel Hotel and Restaurant Group’s Mission and Service Standards as well as Relais & Chateaux’s 5 C’s and philosophy in performing all key areas of accountability and other essential duties and responsibilities.
Key Areas of Accountability:
- Supervise all activities of wait staff and delegate responsibilities
- Welcome guests and direct them to tables
- Ensures guest satisfaction in Restaurant Service Operations
- Adheres to department & Relais and Chateaux standards.
- Ensures complete knowledge of food served each morning.
- Services courtyard or room service breakfast or bar menu as needed
- Ensure all wait staff are attentive & courteous to guests, present menus, suggest additional items and provide excellent service at all times
- Follow the cleaning schedule and delegate tasks to uphold immaculate standards of cleanliness
- Observe, anticipate and accommodate all guests needs and requests
- Advise and provide guidance to wait staff on appropriate behaviors & conduct
- Supervise the proper handling of equipment
- Ensure that staff set up & maintain service stations correctly
- Responsible for setting up the restaurant in accordance with breakfast standards
- Ensure that the restaurant is ready for service & opens punctually
- Assist and participate in training
- Maintains excellent standards of Health and Safety in line with hotel policy and CAL/OSHA requirements
- Coordinates and communicates with kitchen staff effectively
- Assists with coffee and water inventory as needed
- Picks up breakfast and kitchen supplies as directed/ needed
- Able to utilize the Point of Sales system effectively and accurately
- Handles all aspects of food service including : Runs food, sets silverware, clears plates, resets tables, offers beverage or coffee service.
- Responsible for back station cleanliness
- Any other duties or work outside the normal daily/weekly routine, but within the overall scope of the position

Pay: $19.00 - $22.00 per hour
