A Day in the Life of an Industrial Electronics Technician - Paper Mill
As an Industrial Electronics Technician, you will:
- Perform preventative maintenance on electrical systems and components following electrical codes, manuals, and schematics.
- Provide hands-on technical support for instrumentation and electrical control applications in manufacturing operations.
- Troubleshoot and repair electrical and electronic equipment.
- Install new electrical equipment and manage inventory and parts.
- Support other maintenance activities, including mechanical tasks as needed.
- Test, calibrate, and repair pneumatic, mechanical, electrical, electro-mechanical, and electronic measuring and control instruments.
What We’re Looking For
We value experience and dedication. Ideal candidates will have:
- Military Veterans Encouraged to Apply: Experience in electronics, fire control, nuclear, weapons control, avionics, instrumentation, sonar, etc., is highly applicable.
- Relevant Industrial Experience: Particularly in flat sheet processes such as paper.
- Educational Background: An associate's degree or higher in Electrical Engineering, Electrical Systems, Instrumentation, Electronics, Electro-mechanical, Electrical System Maintenance, or Manufacturing Technology, or equivalent military experience.
- Experience: At least two years of electrical/electronic and/or instrument & control troubleshooting experience in a manufacturing environment.
- Skills: Strong troubleshooting skills and knowledge of various electrical sensors, switches, controllers, instrumentation, transmitters, automated valves, calibrations, industrial communications, robotics, motion control, and AC/DC control power.
- Preferred QCS Experience: Experience with QCS equipment (Honeywell, ABB, Mahlo, Valmet, Thermofisher, etc.) or equivalent military work experience is preferred but not required.
