Occupational Therapist Assistant Job Description
We are a small locally owned clinic. Our population is mostly pediatrics but may include adults on the caseload. This position will start with a partial caseload but we expect it to continue to grow to a full load. We are passionate about what we do and are looking for someone just as passionate that wants to serve all populations.

Performs effective patient treatment to restore, maintain, or prevent decline of patient function by administering medically prescribed therapy treatments in accordance with federal, state, and professional standards governing the treatment location under the supervision of an occupational therapist.
Essential Job Functions
- Meets the patient's goals/needs and provides quality care by determining treatment plans in consultation with the supervising occupational therapist, physicians, and by prescription.
- Helps patients accomplish their treatment plan and secure necessary supplies and adaptive equipment for patients to facilitate independence.
- Administers therapy according to a treatment plan approved by the occupational therapist and attending physician.
- Evaluates effects of therapy treatments by observing, noting, and evaluating patient's progress; providing medically necessary treatment plan modifications.
- Participates in the Q & A process for rehab related issues.
- Assures continuation of therapeutic plan via instructing patients, families and/or caregivers in follow-up maintenance programs; recommending and/or providing assistive equipment.
- Documents patient care services by charting in patient records according to accepted regulatory, corporate, and professional guidelines.
- Records daily treatment charges per corporate procedures.
- Ensures operation of equipment by completing preventive maintenance requirements; following manufacturer's instructions; troubleshooting malfunctions.
- Secures equipment, adaptive devices and supplies in accordance with company policy.
- Maintains professional and technical knowledge by attending educational workshops; reviewing professional publications; and establishing personal networks.
- Complies with federal, state, and local legal and professional requirements by studying existing and new legislation; enforcing adherence to requirements.
Qualifications Graduate from an accredited program for Occupational Therapy Assistants Current license in the state of Missouri required
- Must meet Clinical Competency requirements
- Must have and maintain current CPR certification
