Overview:
As the Tax Manager, you'll lead the charge in revolutionizing our client's taxation services within their new billing ecosystem. This pivotal role demands a blend of research acumen, strategic collaboration, and innovation to keep their tax database compliant and cutting edge. In this role, you'll work closely with Product Management and Engineering to enhance taxation functionalities and build strategic partnerships that amplify their service offering.
Responsibilities:
- Federal, state, and local taxes relevant to telecommunications
- Stay up to date on new tax laws and regulations, assessing impact on new billing ecosystem, and spearheading database adjustments to stay compliant and competitive
- Offer tax expertise to ensure tax rates, surcharges, and database updates are accurate and timely while ensuring new taxes are incorporated swiftly
- Regularly test tax database for accuracy, making sure monthly tax releases are on schedule
- Collaborate with Product Management and Engineering to design new functionalities for the tax engine, ensuring it meets customer needs and adapts to legal changes.
- Create and maintain relationships with third parties to enhance taxation services
- Provide tax support and solve tax-related issues
- Lead Tax department with vigor, overseeing personnel, budgeting, performance evaluations, and fostering their culture of creativity and enthusiasm
Requirements:

Education/Qualifications:
- Bachelor's in Accounting or related field
- 6-8 years of relevant experience
- Thorough knowledge of federal, state, and local taxes with a concentration in telecommunications/utilities taxes is required
- CPA preferred but not required
- Prior billing and professional services experience strongly preferred
- Knowledge of tax research techniques and resources
