Mental Health and Substance Abuse RN or LPN/LVN

Responsibilities:
- Assess client health problems and needs.
- Develops and implements nursing care plans and maintains medical records.
- Medication management in an outpatient setting.
- May advise clients on health maintenance and disease prevention or provide case management.
- May supervise support or lower-level staff. Observes nurses and visit clients, to insure proper nursing care is provided.
- Monitors, records, and reports symptoms and changes in clients’ conditions.
- Consults and coordinates with health care team members to assess, plan, implement, and evaluate client care plans.
- Assures that unit is adequately staffed each shift.
- Provides education to clients and families.
- Other duties as assigned.
Qualifications Needed (education and/or experience):
- Current California license to practice as a registered professional nurse or Licensed Vocational Nurse.
- Deep experience in Behavioral health and Psychiatric settings (at least 2-3 years).
- Ability to perform CPR/First Aid.
- Strong safety orientation. Ensures the safety and security of clients and staff.
- Knowledge of nursing policies, procedures, protocols, treatments, standards of care, and nurse practice act.
- Knowledge of the procedures for medication administration and can administer oral, sublingual, and IV medications; knowledge of pharmacology.
Job Location: San Mateo and Santa Clara California area

Shift: They are in for all shifts, even part-timers
Type of Contract: These are all contract/temp positions.
