Job Description
Full time: 40 hours per week; exempt
Compensation: $55K-$61K with benefits offered through Kaiser Health (including vision), Delta Dental, Sick and Vacation leave, paid holidays and training reimbursement.
Position Summary
Under the supervision of the Clinic Team Lead and Quality Assurance Specialist, the Licensed Therapist (LT) is responsible for providing direct mental health clinical assessments and treatment of individuals with severe and persistent mental health conditions and/or substance abuse who are referred by community partners. In addition, the LT will coordinate closely with the Clinic Team Lead and Quality Assurance Specialist to implement clinical programming. The LT provides clinical supervision to master’s level intern(s).
Major Job Responsibilities
- Assess the mental and behavioral status of referred clients
- Provide evidenced-based counseling therapy to scheduled patients utilizing professional counseling standards
- Provide group sessions as indicated to support building a community at the drop-in center
- Provide case management services to clients as needed or assigned; ensure the clinic services address other social needs of clients and utilize area referral sources for needed specialty care, hospitalization, or advance psychiatric assessments and treatments
- Formulates differential diagnosis of mild to moderate mental health conditions and/or substance abuse
- Formulates short-term and long-term counseling plans for clients under care including social development and rehabilitation
- Coordinate client’s use of other Heartland Mental Health programs and outside community resources
- Consults with psychiatrist and other providers regarding complex clients and regarding prescription medications prescribed by providers
- Identify patients with urgent mental health conditions (e.g., 27-10 (M-1) “mental health hold” evaluations, suicidal, homicidal, psychotic, etc.) and make appropriate referrals to available emergency or psychiatric treatment facilities
- Maintain appropriate documentation for all necessary billing information
- Maintains thorough, accurate and timely documentation of the provision of services, assessments, evaluations, and progress toward the completion of client’s treatment goals consistent with the clinical and administrative policies and procedures to meet requirements for medical records documentation
- Monitor client outcomes using validated rating scale

- Oversee intern(s)
- With assistance from the Clinic Team Lead and Quality Assurance Specialist, hire, train, supervise and evaluate interns.
- Meet with internship supervisors and complete any required tasks
- Oversee clinical training for clinical team, including interns, in close collaboration with the Clinic Team Lead and Quality Assurance Specialist
- Provide input to policies that impact the clinical program.
- Collaborate with the Clinic Team Lead and Quality Assurance Specialist to establish program goals and program development.
Requirements/Qualifications
· Masters Degree in counseling psychology, social work, or related field
· Licensure as a LCSW, or LPC in Colorado required
· Current CPR card required
· Minimum 2 years’ experience with psychiatric patients
· Strong level of knowledge of Tebra or similar electronic health record system
· Proficient with the Microsoft Office suite (Excel, Outlook, PowerPoint, and Word)
· Excellent organization skills
· Knowledge and ability to learn and practice trauma informed principles and practices
· Experience working with moderate to severe and persistently mentally ill populations
· Knowledge of psychotherapy and community resources
· Ability to assess crisis situations and intervene appropriately

Pay: $30.00 - $32.07 per hour
