Title Intervention Specialist
Location North Central Ohio Rehab Center in Marion, Ohio

Job Summary
The intervention specialist will provide instruction for a small group of students at the North Central Ohio Rehab Center (NCORC). The intervention specialist will work with students and will deliver lessons that align to Ohio’s Learning Standards. The intervention specialist is responsible for providing and tracking individualized education plan (IEP) minutes for each student, typically five to ten students. Including tracking skills learned. The intervention specialist will work closely with the general education teacher at NCORC.
Minimum Qualifications
- A current, valid Ohio intervention specialist license or equivalent for middle and high school grade levels
- A valid Ohio teaching license and willing to obtain RE Alternative Intervention Specialist or a Intervention Specialist Supplemental License
- At least 3 years of teaching high school students recommended
- Knowledgeable of Ohio Learning and Extended standards
- Able to develop rapport with students
- Ability to efficiently multitask on a daily basis
- Ability to preserve confidentiality of student information and records
- Proficiency with use of technology hardware and basic software (i.e., Microsoft office), email, and office equipment (i.e., copier, fax, scanner, telephone, etc.). Proficiency with web-based applications (i.e., Google Docs, ODE website, social media, etc.), and NCOESC databases
- The employee shall remain free of alcohol or nonprescribed controlled substance in the workplace throughout his/her employment in the ESC
- Appointment may require successful completion of communicable disease, child abuse, CPR, first aide, CPI and/or behavioral management training or other training as needed
Clearances
Criminal justice fingerprint/background (FBI/BCI), and public health clearances.
Physical Requirements & Working Conditions
Performance of duties requires constant talking, hearing, engagement in repetitive motions, and eye/hand/foot coordination. Frequent standing and walking. Frequent light to medium physical effort required. Occasional exposure to hazards.
