Job Description:
As part of the Company's xEV business team for Electric Vehicle products, provide supplier quality management and support internally to the plant manufacturing teams during both new product introduction and mass production phases. Directly interact and coordinate with multiple departments within the Company's manufacturing site. Support customer requests when supplied parts are involved. Ensure that raw materials and components supplied by the Company's suppliers meet all regulatory, customer and design requirements; manage suppliers' change points, provide support to suppliers, lead implementation of corrective actions, report on internal and customer complaints related to supplier quality, and direct and guide the Company's Supplier Quality Engineers and Technical Associates; work with a wide variety of aspects of the Company's manufacturing processes, and a wide variety of departments and levels of management within the Company, suppliers and customers both domestic and international. Essential functions include: confirming and ensuring that supplier manufacturing processes can produce and are producing products in accordance to specifications through verification, audits, measurements, trials, experiments and reports/ presentations to internal management; managing Change Points from suppliers and obtaining customer approval for initial production parts; providing daily customer service and plant support activities; leading the Company's teams in the corrective action activities, leading root cause analyses, establishing and implementing countermeasures, and generating reports and presentations for supplier complaints; guiding and directing Supplier Quality Engineers, Technical Associates and other team members to help them grow their knowledge; and working with other team members, including Process Engineers, Test Engineers, Analysis Engineers, Quality Assurance Engineers, Maintenance, Technical Associates and Production, at all levels from management to production floor personnel, while ensuring all the supplier quality assurance needs are met.

- Bachelor's degree in Quality Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, Electrical Engineering or a closely related field.
- Seven (7) years of progressive experience in manufacturing in the automotive industry, with focus on quality engineering (new model/mass production) and supplier quality management.
- Other experience and/or skills must include:
- Project Leader for new model launch.
- Auditor during new and current supplier Quality Assurance visits.
- Customer reporting on new model, mass production, and market claim matters.
- Manufacturing processes and analysis of product issues, such as processes, machining, die mold, materials, etc.
- Quality Systems including PPAP/IPPAAR part approval and CAPA corrective/ preventive actions.
- Geometric Dimensioning & Tolerance (GD&T) and print interpretation.
4. Fluency in technical Japanese.
5. Up to 35% domestic and international travel required.
6. Must have current authorization to be employed in the U.S. without employer sponsorship.
