How you’ll make an impact:
MiaPrep Online High School (MOHS), our online private high school using our virtual curriculum from www.miaprep.com, was formed in August 2022, and accredited as an online private high school for grades 9-12 in June 2023. Our ability to work with the curriculum development team, as well as the software development team, provides a unique opportunity to create a superior learning experience for students.
It’s an exciting time to join MOHS - the first year’s cohort consisted of 80 students, and the second year consisted of 320! Miaplaza’s leadership intends to maintain a high year-over-year growth rate for the foreseeable future with the goal of reaching more than 10,000 students within the next 5-10 years.
We are seeking a skilled leader and passionate educator to serve as Executive Director for MiaPrep Online High School. You’ll play an integral role in scaling the existing operations and team to ensure that the school provides the right framework and services for our students to succeed. You will help define and execute the business direction of the school through data-driven decision-making and inspire strong collaboration from the faculty to develop the school to greater heights together.
What you’ll do:
Business Management & Strategic Growth
- Operational Efficiency: Manage the business operations of the school, in particular the challenges related to fast growth
- Financial Stewardship: Direct the financial strategy of the school, including budgeting, forecasting, and financial planning. Ensure optimal allocation of resources to support educational objectives and long-term sustainability
- Strategic Growth: Develop strategies to attract and retain a diverse student body. Work closely with the admissions team to set enrollment goals, oversee marketing efforts, and ensure a smooth admissions process
Student Success
- Academic Vision: Conduct comprehensive evaluations of the school's effectiveness in achieving its educational goals and mission, overseeing the collection and analysis of data on student performance, faculty engagement, and operational efficiency
- Data Analytics: Develop and execute a framework for the strategic use of data; support the team in using student and staff performance data to drive improved teaching and learning
- Collaborative Leadership: Collaborate with cross-functional partners to maximize our ability to support students’ academic and individual development
Hiring and Team Leadership
- Hiring Prioritization: Anticipate and strategically plan for future hiring needs, making choices in the recruitment and onboarding of staff that align with the school’s mission
- Professional Development: Oversee leadership staff in the planning and executing of professional development opportunities for teachers and team members
- Continuous Improvement: Observe school leadership regularly and create a system for timely and relevant feedback across the school
- Feedback Culture: Oversee the evaluation of staff and faculty performance. Implement systems for regular feedback and appraisal to ensure high standards of teaching and administrative support
You may be a good fit if you have:
- Bachelor’s or higher degree (required) in an education-related field (preferred)
- Minimum of 10 years of work experience, with 5+ years of leadership experience
- Experience in analyzing data and using data to inform decisions and solve problems
- Experience leading managers and individual contributors; goal-setting, providing meaningful feedback, and setting strategic plans for development
- Ability to multi-task and work within an ever-changing, fast-moving, start-up environment, while driving toward clarity and solutions
- Strong organizational skills; extremely careful attention to detail and follow-through
- Ability to create, monitor, and maintain systems that enhance organizational efficiency
- Strong interpersonal and communication skills
- Growth mindset and motivated by constructive feedback
- Ability to work well in a team
- Proven ability to work independently, manage schedules, and meet deadlines
- Highly motivated, proactive, and seeks opportunities for continuous improvement
- High standards of integrity and transparency
