Most therapists will start as part-time while building their caseload (approx. first 6 months). Therapists may remain part-time indefinitely (average 12 clients per week) or become full-time (average 25 clients per week).
Responsibilities
- Provide mental health professional services to clients who reside in the State of Illinois. Therapist will serve individuals, couples, and/or families with varying diagnoses and ages.
- Deliver care via telehealth and/or in-person sessions; client demand is estimated at 70-80% telehealth and 20-30% in-person.
- Establish and manage a consistent weekly schedule; your schedule, however, is yours to manage!
- Conduct new client consultations, schedule appointments, request practice paperwork, and write post-session notes utilizing our electronic health record system.
- Participate in staff meetings, case consultations, supervision, and/or professional development, whether in-person or virtual.
- Offer approximately 10-15% of time slots for reduced rate services for those with financial hardship.
- Engage in a kind, collegial, and professional manner with other employees so as to contribute to a collaborative, supportive, and positive team environment.
- Adhere to all applicable laws, regulations, and ethical standards associated with your license and the policies of Leap Therapy Chicago.
Qualifications
- Master’s degree or higher in relevant field.
- Licensed in the State of Illinois as an AMFT/LMFT without restrictions.
- Two years of experience in private practice is preferred, but not required.
- Personality that is empathetic, warm, caring, curious, and authentic. Culturally competent and inclusive of everyone. Genuine belief that people can improve their capacities and talents.
- Excellent communication and clinical skills with a strong professional and relational presence.
- Ability to speak and write English fluently.
- Ability to attend virtual and in-person staff meetings, case consultations, and supervision sessions.
- Ability to provide a confidential space to work virtually from home and commute to our Lakeview office for in-person sessions, as needed. Fully remote positions (100% telehealth) are available as long as you reside in the State of Illinois and are fully licensed.
