Company Overview:
Stratos Wealth Partners, a large and rapidly growing national wealth management firm with
approximately $22 billion of assets under management with over 345 advisors nationwide, is seeking to fill the position of Trading Specialist within its Registered Investment Advisor (RIA) called Stratos Investment Management (SIM). Serving as an internal asset manager, SIM offers over 20 model portfolios and services over $1.52 billion in assets and 3,600 accounts.
Position Overview:
Responsible for the daily management and oversight of RIA’s managed accounts and associated portfolios and underlying positions. Responsibilities will include all trading-related activity related to accounts, including processing of trading workflows (receipt of new money, release of funds per client request, re-balancing of accounts, etc.), and overall model/portfolio positional changes. Other required operational support will include performance reporting, account metrics and measurements related to accounts, and advisor request support and fulfillment.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
Account Trading

Proactive oversight of all trading functions including trading individual accounts, block trading, order entry, order management, trade confirmation, and reconciliation.

Monitor account allocations, cash levels, and individual positions relative to allocation strategies and models for accuracy and drift.

Creation and processing of trade tickets; confirmation of trade execution and account positions. Maintenance of books and records related to all trading functions.

Responsible for monitoring all trading activity and performing various account reconciliations based on drift.
Operations / Account Maintenance

Oversight of account setup and maintenance of client demographic data, investment model assignments, and alignment to target investment models/portfolios. Input to new account process and account billing preparation.

Support client inquiries and resolution of client issues pertaining to trading and/or assets.

Audits of account setup data/parameters in the trade order management system

Pre-trade impact analysis and regular “drift” reporting and investment model alignment.

Maintenance of several financial and custodial systems, Dashboard, automated spreadsheets, and database applications as assigned and required.

Summary of asset flows by custodial and/or advisory relationship including monthly detail on new assets, redemptions, and market appreciation effects.

Preparation of various detail and summary reports and reconciliation of such reports with source documentation (general ledger, financial statements, subsystem reports, etc.), researching any differences and pursuing corrective action as needed. Asset and performance updates and reports for Investment Databases.

Due diligence support and/or reporting to strategic partners on total assets, asset types, and asset sources.
Client (Advisor) Development and Servicing:

Develop an overall understanding of SIM’s assigned client’s investment strategies/products to best service the customer.

Support client inquiries and resolution of client issues pertaining to trading and/or portfolios including pre-trade impact analysis and investment model alignments.

Support current and new business development by participating/presenting in client-facing meetings, new advisor/acquisition onboarding sessions, and broader market update sessions.
Skills / Key Competencies Required

Ideal candidate will have at least 4+ years of related experience, ideally with an RIA, wealth management firm, or investment services firm.

Familiarity with Orion/Eclipse trading software.

Familiarity with Fidelity and other custodial platforms.

Familiarity with Tradeweb Direct - fixed income solutions.
- Bachelor’s degree, preferably with a concentration in Business, Finance, Economics, or related field (equivalent education/experience will be considered).

Advanced proficiency using MS Office (Excel & PowerPoint). Experience with various investment/operational software (FactSet, Bloomberg, Morningstar Direct).

Highly motivated self-starter, strong work ethic, attention to detail, and ability to prioritize and multi-task effectively in a fast-paced environment working collaboratively and independently.
**Please note, once trained, this position will work a hybrid work schedule, 3 days in the Beachwood, Ohio office, 2 days remote each week. **
